The launch, held in Auckland on 9 July 2026, marks a significant milestone in Aaahara’s international expansion and builds on its APEDA-facilitated export of the first-ever sea shipment of botanically infused, Ready-to-Cook millet functional foods from Karnataka to New Zealand.

Aaahara, a Bengaluru-based food brand, has launched its innovative millet-based functional foods and spices in New Zealand. This historic expansion marks Karnataka’s first sea shipment of such products, coinciding with a high-level India-New Zealand engagement. It highlights India’s growing global opportunity in value-added food exports.

Aaahara's Global Leap: India's Millet Foods Conquer New Zealand

The launch coincided with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s historic official visit to New Zealand, the first by an Indian Prime Minister in four decades, during which India and New Zealand elevated their relationship to a Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade, investment and innovation. During the same week, Mr. Suresh Kumar Bafna, Founder and CEO, Aaahara (Infini Agrotek LLP), also participated in the India and New Zealand Business Engagement 2026, a high-level platform held in conjunction with the Prime Ministerial visit that brought together government representatives, industry leaders and businesses from both countries. Against this backdrop, Aaahara’s expansion highlights the growing global opportunity for Indian companies to create value-added food brands rooted in innovation and agricultural excellence.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr. Suresh Kumar Bafna, Founder and CEO, Aaahara (Infini Agrotek LLP), said, “Our official launch in New Zealand marks an important chapter in Aaahara’s journey to take India’s traditional food wisdom to global consumers. We believe the growing demand for nutritious, convenient and authentic food products presents a significant opportunity for Indian brands to showcase the country’s rich culinary heritage through innovation. As we expand our presence in international markets, we look forward to introducing thoughtfully developed millet-based foods from India to consumers across the world.”

Mr. Bafna was also featured among the participating India Business Leaders at the India and New Zealand Business Engagement 2026, organised by New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). The high-level platform, held as part of the broader India-New Zealand engagements during the Prime Ministerial visit, brought together business leaders from both countries to explore opportunities across trade, agriculture, food processing, technology and innovation, reflecting Aaahara’s growing role within India’s value-added food export ecosystem.

He further added, “Participating in the India and New Zealand Business Engagement 2026 highlighted the value of deeper collaboration between India and New Zealand across food technology, research, quality systems and sustainable food processing. Such partnerships will be instrumental in creating globally competitive value-added food products from India. We are honoured to receive the FKCCI Best Debut Exporter Award, which recognises our efforts to build high-quality food brands from Karnataka for international markets.”

Aaahara’s international journey has also been recognised with the Best Debut Exporter Award from the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI). The recognition acknowledges the company’s contribution to advancing Karnataka’s value-added food exports and reinforces its commitment to building globally competitive food brands from India.

Aaahara’s portfolio includes botanically infused Ready-to-Cook functional foods inspired by Indian favourites such as Idli-Dosa, Protein Adai, Khichdi, Pongal, Kanji and Payasam, alongside premium cryogenically processed spices including Sambar Powder, Rasam Powder, Puliyogare Powder and Idli Podi. Manufactured using advanced low-temperature grinding technology, the products are designed to preserve authentic flavour while delivering nutrition and convenience for modern consumers.

Building on its presence across more than 10,000 retail stores, Amazon, Flipkart, Instamart, aaahara.com, HoReCa and institutional channels, Aaahara is now focused on strengthening its overseas presence through strategic collaborations in product innovation, research, quality systems and distribution. More than a product launch, Aaahara’s entry into New Zealand reflects its long-term vision of taking Karnataka’s food innovation to global consumers.
