The Jharkhand CID summoned JSSC secretary Sudhir Gupta and family members of Abhay Tiwari, a suspect in the investigation into alleged irregularities in the recruitment examinations, for interrogation.
Gupta was interrogated for several hours after the CID raided the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) on Monday. The investigating agency is looking into the material it has gathered during the raid as it tries to establish how candidates allegedly manipulated the recruitment examinations to secure jobs.
Jharkhand CID summoned JSSC secretary Sudhir Gupta and Abhay Tiwari’s family regarding recruitment exam irregularities. Following Tiwari’s arrest for allegedly clearing 12 exams, the government cancelled the JSSC Combined Graduate Level and TDPL exams.
The CID also questioned Akshay Tiwary, the brother of Abhay Tiwari, and his wife, an assistant section officer, in connection with the complaint. Akshay Tiwary, in addition to being a government servant, had cleared the preliminary examination of the 14th Jharkhand Public Service Commission examination.

Abhay Tiwary, a former Block Supply Officer of Poriyahat in Godda district, was arrested by the CID on July 22. The investigating agency alleged that he had cleared about 12 competitive examinations in the last 13 years.
According to the CID, Tiwary had appeared and cleared the 2018 Police Sub-Inspector examination, the 2013 Navy SAR examination, the 2014 BARC assistant examination and the IRB constable examination, the 2018 CRPF head constable examination and the 2014 Northern Coalfields examination.
Tiwary had also qualified the PGT Teacher, CGL exams conducted by JSSC, and examinations for Assistant Conservator of Forest, Forest Range Officer, and Food Safety Officer.
The CID is scrutinizing application forms, candidate information, documents, evaluation sheets, and selection procedures as it investigates allegations of malpractice in the recruitment examinations. The investigating agency is also following up on information provided by examination conducting agencies.
In addition, Tiwary was quoted as saying that different “rate charts” were in place for candidates who wanted to clear different competitive examinations.
The Jharkhand government cancelled the JSSC Combined Graduate Level examination on Monday. It also cancelled the examination conducted by the outsourcing agency TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd (TDPL) and the results published by it. By doing so, the government responded to the demands of student protesters who had gathered at the JSSC building.
