A young couple from Odisha, suspected of murdering a woman, whose chopped up body was found in a suitcase on the Tamil Nadu Express train, is being hunted by the police in Tamil Nadu.
Tamil Nadu police are searching for an Odisha couple suspected of murdering Hayath Nisha, whose dismembered body was discovered in a suitcase on the Tamil Nadu Express train in Agra; further remains were found in their Guduvanchery home.
The suitcase in which the body parts were found was retrieved from the train after it reached Agra on August 5. The suitcase has been traced back to Chennai, and now the police are trying to find the young couple who brought the suitcase to Chennai Central railway station.
The dead person has been identified as Hayath Nisha from Odisha.
Dismembered Body Found Inside Red Suitcase
This incident came to light when the police at Agra uncovered a red bag in the train Tamil Nadu Express, which had departed from Chennai Central.
When the bag was checked by the police, they discovered the severed body parts of a woman, who was later identified to be Hayath Nisha.
This incident caused the police to track down the journey of the bag and also the persons responsible for bringing the bag to the railway station.
CCTV Footage Leads Police To Guduvanchery
Investigators examined CCTV footage from Chennai Central and reportedly spotted a young man and woman carrying the suitcase and placing it inside the Tamil Nadu Express.
The couple were then seen leaving the station and travelling towards Park railway station.
From there, they reportedly took a suburban train to Guduvanchery.
Police later showed photographs and CCTV footage of the suspects to residents in the area. This helped investigators trace them to a house on Masjid Street.
The probe also revealed that Hayath Nisha had been staying at the same house with the couple.
Woman Was Living With The Couple
According to the information gathered by investigators, Hayath Nisha had separated from her husband and was living with the young Odisha couple.
Her 19-year-old son is reportedly working as an AC mechanic in Tambaram.
Police are now examining the relationship between Nisha and the couple and trying to determine what led to the alleged murder.
Body Parts Found Inside Biryani Vessel
During a search of the house, police reportedly found additional portions of Nisha’s body inside a large vessel commonly used for preparing biryani.
Investigators also found the remains covered with maida flour, while vegetables were reportedly present inside the vessel. Bloodstains were also found at the house, adding to the evidence being examined by the police.
The discovery has led investigators to believe that the house may have been connected to the murder and dismemberment.
