Apple has now confirmed that iOS 27 is going to be available for update from 14 September onwards. The new software is now announced during Apple’s yearly event after 3 months of its first glimpse showed at WWDC 2026. The update will bring a new design, smarter AI features and many changes to day to day iPhone apps.
Apple releases iOS 27 starting September 14th, featuring major Siri AI enhancements with conversational context, a new design, improved apps like Safari, and parental controls for iPhone 11 series and later models.
iOS 27 Release Date
iPhone users will be able to get or download iOS 27 from 14 September onwards. It cen be installed through update by going to Settings > General > Software Update. The update will be available as an over-the-air download feature supported iPhone models.
Siri AI Gets a Major Upgrade
The biggest change that has come to iOS 27 is the new Siri AI. Apple confirmed Siri can better understand normal conversations and remember the context of previous requests. The new Siri uses Apple’s Foundation Models along with Google’s Gemini AI models.
The Users will be able to open Siri as a separate app and view older conversations, like ChatGPT or Gemini. The update also brings the next generation of Apple Intelligence.
New Design and Useful Features
iOS 27 improves Apple’s Liquid Glass design. The Phone app gets a new look, while Messages and Mail receive new suggestions. Safari can group tabs by topic and notify users when information on a website changes.
Apple is also adding new parental controls, including Time Allowances, Schedules and Ask to Browser.
iOS 27 Compatible iPhones
The update supports iPhones from the iPhone 11 series and later, along with the iPhone SE (2nd generation and later). However, some Apple Intelligence features require newer iPhone models.
