Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Thursday wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, describing him as a leader working with dedication to build a strong India.
PM Modi, who was born on September 17, 1950, turned 76 on Thursday. Leaders from across the political spectrum, along with several film personalities, sent birthday greetings to the Prime Minister.
Tamil Nadu CM C Joseph Vijay wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his 76th birthday, praising his dedication, while BJP workers in Tamil Nadu celebrated ‘Seva Day’ with prayers at Marundeeswarar Temple, medical camps for seniors, and honouring sanitation workers.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Office shared Vijay’s message on X wishing Modi good health and a long life.
“I extend my heartfelt birthday wishes to the Prime Minister of India, Thiru. Narendra Modi avargal, who leads with dedication towards building a strong India. I wholeheartedly wish you a long life filled with good health,” Vijay said in his message.
His message has raised eyebrow
Meanwhile, BJP workers in Tamil Nadu marked Modi’s birthday as Seva Day, with programmes including temple prayers, medical camps for senior citizens and events to honour sanitation workers.
Senior BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan said the party was observing the entire month as Seva month. At the Marundeeswarar Temple, BJP workers offered prayers for Modi’s health and longevity.
“We are all very happy that our honourable Prime Minister’s birthday is celebrated as Seva month. Today we have started at the Marundeeswarar Koyil under the leadership of Anand Karathe Thyagarajan and District President Kumar. First, we prayed in the Marundeeswarar Temple for the long and healthy life of our honourable Prime Minister,” Soundararajan said.
A medical camp was also organised for elderly people, who were given medical assistance and gifts. Sanitation workers were felicitated and food was served to them as part of the programme.
“We have served the elders through a medical camp as well as gifts and they have provided good food for them. And with the sanitary workers, brothers and sisters, we provided them with love and affection through some gifts and we all sat with them and took food,” she said.
The BJP has planned more activities in Tamil Nadu as part of the celebrations, including a tree plantation drive and the release of a coffee table book. Soundararajan also said lamps would be lit in homes across the state in the evening as prayers were offered for Modi’s long life.
“Today, as we are celebrating it as Seva Day, I am going for a tree plantation drive, and in the evening we are releasing a coffee table book, and in the evening every house we are going to light the lamp praying for the long life of our honourable Prime Minister,” she said.
