Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reached Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab on Saturday and paid obeisance at the historic Gurdwara Sri Jyoti Saroop Sahib. She offered prayers and paid tribute to Mata Gujri Ji and the Sahibzadas, describing the holy site as a symbol of courage, sacrifice and faith. Gupta also prayed for the prosperity of Punjab and the well-being of its people.
Gupta’s Punjab visit comes as the BJP’s ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’ moves into its second phase. She flagged off the Fatehgarh Sahib leg of the campaign after her visit to the gurdwara. The yatra is part of a wider BJP campaign against drug abuse in Punjab, with multiple routes planned across the state.

The Delhi Chief Minister said the fight against drugs requires public participation and expressed support for efforts aimed at creating a drug-free Punjab. Her visit also brought together the religious and public-outreach aspects of the campaign, with Punjab BJP leaders accompanying her during the programme.

The BJP’s anti-drug campaign is planned across several parts of Punjab. According to the announced schedule, the yatra began from Pathankot on September 18, moved to Fatehgarh Sahib on September 19, and is scheduled to continue through other parts of the state.
For Rekha Gupta, the Punjab visit also underlined her participation in the BJP’s wider outreach campaign on the drug issue. The programme at Fatehgarh Sahib combined her visit to the historic gurdwara with her participation in the anti-drug yatra.
