Yuvraj Singh Manchanda’s murder investigation links suspects Anya Vats and Sanyam Sachdeva to a 1.2 crore financial fraud involving fake government notices and threatening messages; Manchanda’s body was found disposed of in Gurugram.

The message has got place in FIR filed over an alleged fraud of more than 1.2 crore. The case also involves the accused in Yuvraj’s murder case, Anya Vats and Sanyam Sachdeva. Now police is investigating that had Yuvraj knew about Anya and Sanyam’s illegal activities.

Fake Government Notices Used In Alleged Fraud

According to the FIR, the complainant, a senior vice-president of a non-banking financial company related to public sector bank, was allegedly made targeted in September 2024. Interestingly, he was former schoolmate of Sanyam Sachdeva.

Even the complainant received a fake ED notice on WhatsApp. Vats and Sachdeva had claimed that they had senior government contacts and can help him deal with this matter.

The accused allegedly even sent fake notices carrying the names of government authorities. These notices came as Prevention of Money Laundering Act, Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The complainant allegedly even paid 1.2 crore from his saving, loans and money borrowed from his family members. Most of the money was later transferred to Anya Vats’ account.

More Money Allegedly Demanded

Vats allegedly later demanded another Rs 26 crore. She reportedly claimed that Rs 13.8 crore had already been paid to government agencies for the complainant.

The complainant eventually approached police after realising that he had allegedly been cheated. A case was registered at Parliament Street police station in August.

The FIR also reportedly contains the threatening WhatsApp message: “Sell your wife/do anything, just repay this.”

Police are also looking into other allegations against Sachdeva, including a property-related dispute involving his estranged wife. The property was reportedly worth around Rs 4.5 crore in Greater Noida.

Police Link Accused To Manchanda’s Death

Manchanda disappeared on September 6 after telling his family that he was going to Gurugram for a meeting. He was expected to return by around 10 pm, but his phone was later switched off.

Police said Manchanda worked as a sales manager at Adani Realty. Technical investigation later led officers to Vats, a former associate of Manchanda.

Her phone had reportedly been untraceable since September 8. Police eventually identified another number allegedly being used by her. Call records and location data took investigators to Uttarakhand, where Vats and Sachdeva were apprehended.

South-East Delhi DCP Vineet Kumar said, “Upon interrogation, they admitted to meeting Yuvraj and confessed to murdering him.”

Police said the accused told them that Manchanda’s body had been disposed of in Gurugram’s Badshahpur area. Gurugram Police had recovered a body there on September 10. Manchanda’s family later identified him through photographs and his belongings.

Delhi Police has secured five days of custody of the two accused. Investigators are now examining their alleged financial activities, the murder motive and whether Manchanda’s possible knowledge of the fraud had any role in his death.
