India have scored another golden goal in their Asian Games campaign as the women’s kabaddi team clinched the gold medal after defeating Iran 37-34 at the Asian Games 2026.
India had to dig deep to see out a tense second half to finish as runners-up in the Asian Kabaddi Championship.
India’s women’s kabaddi team secured the gold medal at the Asian Games 2026, defeating Iran 37-34 after successfully defending their lead against a strong second-half comeback bid by the opponents.
India started the final strongly and were six points clear at half-time (22-16), but then Iran responded with a second half move that pulled them back to within a single point of the hosts (27-26).
India Finish the Job
Iran made a brilliant recovery in the final, which presented India with the challenge to finish the job and deliver the gold medal.
India responded with the coolness expected of a team in a gold medal match.
The defending champions defended in numbers, blanking their opponents’ raids, and continuing to score points to extend their lead.

Iran kept coming, but India held firm to register a comprehensive win and claim the gold medal.
Another Asian Games Gold for India
India’s women’s kabaddi team added another team gold to the country’s haul at the Asian Games.
India has always been one of the powerhouses in Asian kabaddi, and the latest gold medal win shows no signs of slowing down.
However, this victory was not registered without a fight.
