A raid on properties linked to a Bihar bureaucrat couple has uncovered a sizeable cache of cash and valuables, with Vigilance officials also finding records of properties and investments worth several crores, NDTV reported.
The searches were part of a disproportionate assets investigation involving Ravindra Kumar Diwakar, Patna’s Additional District Magistrate (Supply), and his wife Kumari Sweety, the District Sub-Registrar at Danapur.
Bihar’s Vigilance Bureau seized Rs 79 lakh cash, luxury watches, and property documents worth over Rs 2 crore during raids on Additional DM Ravindra Kumar Diwakar and Sub-Registrar Kumari Sweety linked to a disproportionate assets investigation.

The Vigilance Investigation Bureau searched four premises in Patna and Begusarai on Monday. Among the biggest recoveries was around Rs 70 lakh in cash from the couple’s Patna residence. Officials also found 48 luxury watches, collectively valued at about Rs 6 lakh.
Another Rs 9 lakh in cash was recovered from the family’s ancestral property in Begusarai, where the teams also found gold and silver jewellery.
The operation was not limited to cash and valuables. Vigilance officials collected documents relating to land purchases, investments, bank accounts and other financial transactions. Cash-counting machines were used during the searches, while the seized material was examined under the supervision of the department’s DIG.

The case stems from FIR No. 113/2026 registered against Diwakar and Sweety. Vigilance ADG Jitendra Singh Gangwar said the initial investigation had pointed to assets of around Rs 1.06 crore that were allegedly disproportionate to their known sources of income.
According to the department, the alleged excess worked out to roughly 47 per cent of the couple’s known income. The FIR was placed before the court, following which a search warrant was obtained.
The property trail has added another dimension to the investigation.
Vigilance officials have identified two flats in Patna held in the names of Diwakar and his wife. Their combined estimated value is around Rs 1.07 crore. Three plots in the city, registered in the names of Sweety and Diwakar’s father, have also been identified and are estimated to be worth nearly Rs 1.28 crore.
The documents and financial records seized during Monday’s operation are now being examined as the Vigilance Bureau continues its probe into the couple’s alleged disproportionate assets.
