“Bittu Tabahi”, which is the famous name by which Surendra Singh Choudhary is widely known, has been in news due to his attempt to clean dirty rivers. But now, an Instagram video posted by him has brought into light a disturbing issue – garbage is again piling up at the very spots where it had been cleared out after months of tough cleaning process.

After dedicating eight months to cleaning the Ajnar River in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Surendra Singh Choudhary, known as Bittu Tabahi, faces the reappearance of garbage, highlighting the need for public cooperation and effective local waste management.
According to the video uploaded by Bittu, piles of plastic and other kinds of garbage have again piled up in the banks of Ajnar River in Rajgarh District of Madhya Pradesh. This is happening just after a few weeks when the riverbeds have been cleaned up.
Bittu has himself taken a lot of pain in clearing off the garbage from the riverbeds in almost eight months.
Bittu Tabahi Returns To Clean The Ajnar River
The cleanup of Ajnar River was no less than an ordeal for Bittu who spent eight months trying to clean waste from the river and the surrounding areas. It was Bittu’s endeavor to clean the river and raise awareness regarding the effects of throwing garbage into areas that have already been cleaned.
Unfortunately, according to the recent video, the work seems far from being completed. Plastic bags and other litter is still visible around the river area. This prompts one to question how people still feel comfortable throwing their garbage in an area which has been cleaned up.
Bittu has come back to clean out the litter again and he does it bag by bag. Bittu’s job becomes even harder as he is not a good swimmer. However, he continues working on cleaning up the area despite this issue.
Posting the video online on Tuesday, Bittu shared his disappointment over the matter. He stated that he had never expected that all his eight months’ effort would go down the drain in such a short time. He asked social media followers for better solutions to get rid of the garbage.
Social Media Users Praise His Efforts
The video prompted reactions from people online, with many expressing sympathy for Bittu and frustration over the repeated dumping of waste.
One user said that seeing rubbish floating under the bridge must be deeply upsetting after so much effort had gone into cleaning the river. The user also praised Bittu’s dedication and encouraged him to continue his work.
Another person highlighted the importance of safety equipment, advising him to wear protective boots and trousers while working in the river.
Some users also called for action from local authorities. One commenter suggested approaching the municipal corporation and seeking strict fines against people who dump garbage along the river.
These reactions point to a larger concern: individual efforts can make a difference, but lasting results require public cooperation and effective waste management.
The state of the Ajnar River reflects the shortcomings of clean-up drives if people keep dumping garbage into the same areas. It is vital to clean up the existing trash, but it is also essential to make sure no new garbage enters the river.
Local authorities can assist with this by making sure that waste is collected regularly, garbage cans are put in appropriate places, as well as taking actions against the violators of waste disposal laws.
