Hours after the release of Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2, Jishad Shamsudeen, who served as Mohanlal’s personal fashion stylist and costume designer for the film, has expressed his disappointment over the Malayalam superstar’s reduced screen time.
In a post on Instagram, he said, “Based on what was shot, I was completely confident in our work-even when reduced to a 2-second glimpse in the trailer. But with the film’s release, three of Mohanlal Sir’s distinct looks were cut entirely, and even that trailer scene was trimmed out.”
Mohanlal’s personal stylist, Jishad Shamsudeen, expressed disappointment over the actor’s significantly reduced screen time in “Jailer 2,” citing the removal of three distinct looks and a trimmed trailer scene, and stated he will not participate in any future sequels.

He said that trimming scenes involving a superstar like Mohanlal was “simply unnecessary”.
The fashion designer added, “Seeing our superstar reduced like this, if there is a Sequel, I will not be a part of it. I am truly sorry to everyone who trusted me. I don’t stand for favors, profits, crore clubs, or stardom. I stand solely for the fans, lovers of the craft, and Mohanlal Sir.”
Meanwhile, the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has opened to fairly positive reviews. The film stars SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, Jatin Sarna and others. It has music by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing by R Nirmal.
The sequel to the hit Jailer has also attracted attention for bringing together several big names from across the Indian film industry in cameo appearances.
Kannada actor Shivaraj Kumar, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan are among the high-profile celebrities making guest appearances in the film.
The film’s smart and effective use of comedy has also been praised by viewers, with Nelson’s trademark humour once again emerging as one of its strengths. One netizen said the film “never gets boring” thanks to the director’s handling of comedy.
Another review noted, “The second half does dip a little, but the use of star cameos and a few surprises ensures the film never loses steam, right until the last shot. Among all sequels featuring stars, this has to be the most entertaining one and all props to Nelson for pulling it off.”
