Why Are Traffic Restrictions Being Imposed?
According to the traffic police advisory, the Durga Puja pandals are located inside residential colonies where roads are narrow and visitor parking facilities are limited.
The advisory stated, “The pandals are located within residential colonies with limited road space and no visitor parking area. Heavy footfall and traffic congestion are expected throughout the evening hours.”
The restrictions aim to manage the expected rush and help devotees reach the celebrations safely.
Delhi Traffic Police Advises Visitors To Use Metro
The traffic police has advised people visiting CR Park to use the Delhi Metro. Visitors can get off at Greater Kailash or Nehru Enclave Metro stations and walk to the pandals.
Commuters have also been asked to start their journeys early, keep extra time for travel and avoid affected roads unless necessary. They should follow instructions issued by traffic personnel.
Rules For Private Vehicles And Parking
Motorists have been advised not to bring private vehicles into CR Park. Parking on roads and footpaths near the pandals is prohibited under the advisory.
Taxi and autorickshaw drivers have also been asked not to stop on main carriageways to pick up or drop off passengers. The traffic police has urged everyone to plan their journeys in advance and cooperate with personnel deployed in the affected areas.
