US President Donald Trump warned that China could face heavy economic penalties if it is found helping Iran during the ongoing conflict.
Speaking on a television interview, Trump said the United States would impose a massive 50% tariff on China if such support is confirmed. He described the potential penalty as “staggering,” underlining how serious the administration is about limiting Iran’s backing.
This warning comes at a sensitive time, as Trump is expected to visit China soon for talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The meeting had earlier been delayed due to the growing tensions linked to Iran.
Strong Words on Iran’s Capabilities
Trump also made bold claims about Iran’s infrastructure, saying the US has the ability to destroy key facilities quickly if needed. He suggested that Iran’s energy systems and power plants could be targeted within a short time frame.
These remarks reflect a more aggressive tone from Washington, indicating that military options remain on the table if diplomatic efforts fail.
US Navy Ordered to Block Strategic Strait
In a major move, Donald Trump has directed the US Navy to begin blocking ships in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important trade routes.

The group said any attempt by foreign forces to challenge its authority in the region could lead to severe consequences. It warned that adversaries could be trapped in a “deadly vortex” if they make the wrong move.
