In a scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday accused the saffron party of harboring deep-seated “hatred” toward Punjab and its people. Speaking with media colleagues in the state capital, the Chief Minister framed the current political friction as a vengeful reaction by the BJP to its repeated electoral losses in the state.

“Anti-Punjab Agenda” and Blasphemy Laws
The Chief Minister did not mince words, labeling the BJP’s stance as consistently “anti-Punjab.” He specifically linked the political tension to recent legislative efforts regarding strict laws against blasphemy and indecency.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann accused the BJP of harboring hatred towards Punjab, linking political tensions to BJP’s electoral losses and citing intolerance regarding blasphemy laws. Mann warned defectors from his AAP party, asserting the common people are the party’s true strength.

According to the Chief Minister, the BJP’s intolerance has become “clearly visible” following the push for these stricter regulations. He suggested that the central party is using political maneuvering to undermine the state’s social fabric as a means of “avenging” their lack of success at the Punjab polls.

Warning to Defectors: “The People are Our Strength”
Addressing recent shifts in the state’s political landscape, Mann issued a stern warning to those exiting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to join the opposition.

On Defections: “We condemn in the strongest terms both those who leave the party and those who take them,” Mann stated.

On Political “Games”: He dismissed the BJP’s tactics as futile, asserting that “they cannot win Punjab with such games.”

On the Electorate: Terming those who switch sides as “traitors of Punjab,” the CM claimed that the common people-whom he described as the AAP’s “real strength”-would teach these individuals a lesson in the democratic arena.A “Revolutionary” Stance.

Reiterating the party’s grassroots identity, the Chief Minister emphasized that the Aam Aadmi Party remains a “revolutionary-minded” organization. He maintained that while other parties rely on tactical maneuvers, the AAP remains united by the “truth” and the support of the common man.

“In a democracy, the people are the biggest and the people are our strength. Aam Aadmi Party stands for truth,” the CM remarked, concluding his address with the iconic slogan, “Inquilab Zindabad” (Long live the revolution).
