Ghazipur investigation details in alleged sexual assault and murder case

Police said items were recovered near the Zamania-Dharammarpur bridge on April 15. The recovered items included a slipper, a mobile phone, and a gamcha towel. Police said the items belonged to a young woman. Police said the body was later found in the river near the area.

Police said a post-mortem was conducted under legal procedure. Police linked the examination to a written report from family members. Police also said the father submitted written information on April 19. Based on that, police registered a murder case at Karanda. Police invoked section 1031 of the BNS.

Police said the prime accused was Hariom Pandey. Police said Hariom Pandey was arrested after the case was registered. Police did not provide further detail on the charge in the statement. Police continued to describe the matter as part of a campaign against crime. Police said strict legal steps were being taken.

Ghazipur village tension after Samajwadi Party delegation visit

The controversy grew on April 22 during a Samajwadi Party delegation’s visit. Police said the group faced stone-pelting in the village. Several people were injured, including police personnel. Police said 10 people were arrested for the attack. The incident added to security concerns in the area.

The Samajwadi Party announced on Friday that a delegation would visit again. The party said the team would be led by the party president. The visit was scheduled for April 29 to meet the victim’s family. On April 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also scheduled to visit Hardoi. The visit was for the Ganga Expressway inauguration.

Earlier, Yadav alleged the village head and others were behind the assault. Yadav said those people were protected by dominant forces. Yadav described the alleged assault as an attack on the PDA.
