Raja Shivaji Box Office Collection Day 2: Ritesh Deshmukh’s Raja Shivaji is holding strong at the box office after its record-breaking Marathi opening, though day two shows a drop. Early estimates suggest solid national business, and trade watchers are tracking if the film can regain pace on Sunday and maintain its early buzz among both Marathi and Hindi audiences.

According to data reported by Sacnilk, Raja Shivaji has earned ₹10.55 crore on Saturday, its second day in cinemas. This follows a massive opening day figure of ₹11.35 crore. The film has now crossed ₹23.77 crore in India gross and reached ₹21.90 crore in India net collections.

Starring and directed by Riteish Deshmukh, Raja Shivaji garnered ₹10.55 crore on its second day, pushing its domestic net total to ₹21.90 crore following a strong opening day and record-breaking Marathi debut.

Raja Shivaji released alongside Ek Din, yet the clash has not slowed its numbers. Ek Din, starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, has underperformed, allowing Raja Shivaji to dominate. The historical drama has earned ₹2.97 crore from Hindi screenings and ₹5.73 crore from Marathi shows, highlighting its wide reach across audiences.

With Sunday still ahead in the opening weekend, analysts are watching whether Raja Shivaji can pick up growth after the day-two slide. The second day’s fall from ₹11.35 crore to ₹10.55 crore shows some cooling, but the overall weekend total remains strong for a Marathi-led release with a bilingual strategy.

Day 1 (Friday) 11.35
Day 2 (Saturday) 10.55
Total India Net 21.90

Raja Shivaji has already overtaken the lifetime collections of several notable Marathi films, including Ventilator, Mauli, Dharmaveer, Me Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy, Aapla Manus, Navra Maza Navsacha 2, Naal, Chandramukhi, Classmates, and Double Seat, marking a historic run at the box office

The film is produced by Genelia D’Souza and Jyoti Deshpande for Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company. Raja Shivaji opened on Friday in both Marathi and Hindi versions. Riteish Deshmukh directs and plays Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, while Genelia appears as Saibai, bringing their real-life partnership to this historical narrative.

Riteish and Genelia’s sons, Rahyl and Riaan, appear as young Shivaji, adding a family link to the project. The ensemble includes Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi and Amole Gupte, giving the biographical drama a star-studded supporting cast across key roles.

Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma praised the film’s performance and Riteish Deshmukh’s dual role. Varma posted on X, “Hey @geneliad, CONGRATS on the way your #RajaShivaji is both SLASHING and SMASHING the BOXOFFICE. @Riteishd both as DIRECTOR and ACTOR is creating MAYHEM in the THEATRES and he literally looks #ShivajiMaharaj REINCARNATED.”

Riteish has earlier spoken about the decade-long struggle to bring Raja Shivaji to screens. At the trailer launch, Riteish recalled, “It’s been 10 years… I first wanted to play Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 2016, but it didn’t happen. Then I tried again, and COVID happened,” he said, fighting back tears. “It felt like Shivaji Maharaj was telling me, ‘Wait, my child… it’s not the right time.'”

Raja Shivaji now combines that long production journey with strong early box office numbers, including the highest opening for a Marathi film. With a powerful cast, bilingual release and solid weekend start, its performance over Sunday and weekdays will decide how far this historical drama travels commercially.
