In a political shift that has redrawn the map of Tamil Nadu, actor-turned-politician Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), have emerged as the dominant force following the 2026 Legislative Assembly elections. As the dust settles on the results, an unexpected message of support has arrived from former actress Ranjitha aka Ma Nithyanandamayi Swami, disciple of Swami Nithyananda.
A Message from ‘Kailasa’
From Nithyandanda’s self-proclaimed sovereign nation of Kailasa, she issued a formal statement via X (formerly Twitter). The message, purportedly authored by the “Prime Minister” of Kailasa, Ma Nithyanandamayi Swami, congratulated Vijay on his “resounding victory.”
Actor Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) secured 108 seats, emerging as the dominant party in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections, while former actress Ranjitha congratulated him from Nithyananda’s self-proclaimed nation ‘Kailasa’.

The statement invoked divine blessings, stating: “May the blessings of THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM (SPH), BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM be upon the people of Tamil Nadu and your administration, guiding it with clarity, strength, and dharmic leadership.”

Nithyananda, who remains a fugitive from Indian law and is believed to be residing on an island near Ecuador, continues to maintain a digital presence, framing his “nation” as a hub for the revival of authentic Hindu civilization.
On his turn, he wished, “On behalf of The United States of KAILASA, THE SUPREME PONTIFF OF HINDUISM, BHAGAVAN SRI NITHYANANDA PARAMASHIVAM extends His heartfelt congratulations to Thiru Vijay, President of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on his victory in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections 2026.”
He has also congratulated the BJP for its victory in Assam and West Bengal.

The election results represent a seismic shift in the state’s traditional Dravidian politics. Vijay’s TVK secured 108 seats, establishing itself as the single largest party. The incumbent DMK saw a significant decline, reduced to just 59 seats.
The broader landscape of the assembly reflects a fractured but fascinating mandate:

Despite the impressive performance, the TVK finds itself 10 seats short of the “magic number” (118) required for an absolute majority in the 234-member house. To bridge this gap, intense political maneuvering is already underway.
Speculation is rife that the Congress (5 seats) and the PMK (4 seats), along with independent winners or smaller allies, may align with Vijay to facilitate the formation of the next government. If these negotiations reach a successful conclusion, Vijay is poised to take the oath as the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, marking the first time a debutant party leader has ascended to the office since the era of M.G. Ramachandran.
