Commercial LPG cylinder prices are rising from June 1, increasing costs for many businesses across India. A 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now costs Rs 3,113.50 after a Rs 42 hike, while small 5 kg FTL cylinders also get costlier, even as household LPG prices stay unchanged.
Commercial LPG cylinder prices increased from June 1; a 19 kg cylinder in Delhi now costs Rs 3,113.50 and a 5 kg FTL cylinder Rs 821.50, raising business operating costs while domestic LPG rates remain unchanged.
The higher commercial LPG rates are expected to raise operating costs for restaurants, hotels, caterers and small industrial units that use gas daily. These sectors rely heavily on steady LPG supplies, so even modest price changes can quickly affect profit margins and menu pricing in major cities.
Commercial LPG cylinder prices and FTL rates revised from June 1
Oil marketing companies have revised commercial LPG cylinder prices for June 1. In Delhi, the 19 kg cylinder price has moved from Rs 3,071.50 to Rs 3,113.50 after a Rs 42 rise. In Kolkata, the same cylinder now costs Rs 3,255.50, following an increase of Rs 53.50.
The 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder, used by smaller businesses and some mobile vendors, is also costlier. In Delhi, its price has been raised by Rs 11 and now stands at Rs 821.50. Despite these changes, there is no revision in domestic LPG cylinder rates.

Commercial LPG cylinder prices and fuel security plans explained
The latest commercial LPG cylinder price move comes while the government focuses on fuel security and uninterrupted supply of petroleum products. Authorities say they aim to balance market-linked pricing with adequate stock levels so that petrol, diesel, LPG and natural gas remain available across regions, including high-demand districts.
On May 29, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, spoke about building larger strategic reserves. Sharma said authorities are working with oil marketing companies on long-term storage plans for both LPG and crude oil to strengthen supply buffers during demand spikes or disruptions.
Sharma stated, “Regarding strategic reserves, we are also working on the strategic reserves. And we have asked the oil marketing companies to work out that the LPG reserve should be a minimum of 30 days with them, and they are working on it. And similarly, for crude also, we are working.”
Commercial LPG cylinder prices, demand spikes and enforcement action
The ministry has noticed sharp increases in fuel sales in some districts, with agricultural activities and bulk buying cited as factors. According to Sharma, overall fuel sales growth has crossed 30 per cent, and 14 districts have registered petrol sales growth of more than 100 per cent over recent periods.
To prevent diversion and hoarding, enforcement drives have been stepped up around LPG and liquid fuels. Sharma said that over four days, officials carried out more than 6,500 raids on LPG-related operations, which led to five FIRs and two arrests for suspected violations in handling and distribution.
Further inspections targeted retail fuel outlets. In two days, 900 raids at petrol pumps and related locations resulted in the seizure of 417 litres of petrol and 75,715 litres of diesel. Officials registered 12 FIRs and made 15 arrests linked to irregularities, while monitoring continued in districts showing unusual consumption jumps.
Sharma emphasised that supplies remain comfortable despite such demand surges. “We have sufficient stock of petrol, diesel and LPG, natural gas and fuel inventories are tied up. All our refineries are operating at an optimum level, and LPG production is at an all-time high, almost 90 DMT per day. No dry out has been reported on the LPG distributorship,” Sharma said.
Sharma added that the government has taken several steps to keep fuel prices stable, including earlier cuts in excise duty on petrol and diesel. Sharma also urged citizens not to react to rumours, to use energy carefully, and stressed that authorities are working to ensure smooth delivery of LPG cylinders and other fuels nationwide.
