Residents of Chennai can expect partly cloudy skies along with light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over the next two days, according to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai.

While the city may receive only light rainfall, temperatures are likely to remain above normal levels. The maximum temperature in Chennai is expected to hover between 38°C and 39°C on June 17 and 37°C and 38°C on June 18, while minimum temperatures are likely to remain around 28°C to 29°C.

Chennai forecasts light rain, thunderstorms, and lightning for June 17-18, with temperatures staying above normal around 37-39°C. The RMC also issued heavy rainfall warnings for isolated areas in several inner districts of Tamil Nadu.
