Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke returned to India on Saturday and led a large protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, where hundreds of students and young people gathered to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

Prakash Raj Expresses Support For The Movement
Actor Prakash Raj also extended his support to the protest and the movement behind it.
Responding to a social media user who noted that he was unable to attend the gathering in Delhi, Raj explained that prior work commitments prevented him from joining the demonstration in person.

“Tried my best to be there and show my solidarity, but couldn’t come due to impending prior work. Always with the movement. I am extremely happy Cockroaches rocked. Thank you dearest Sonam Wangchuk for being there. Who else is better than you when it comes to the future of our education system?” he wrote on X.
His message quickly gained attention among supporters of the movement and added to the growing public discussion around the protest.
Dipke Tells Supporters Not To Be Afraid
Addressing the crowd at Jantar Mantar, Dipke described the campaign as a long-term struggle and urged supporters to remain determined.
He claimed that despite a month-long social media campaign demanding the education minister’s resignation, authorities had not addressed the group’s concerns.
According to Dipke, attempts to suppress online content would not stop the movement from continuing its campaign.

His speech was met with loud applause and slogans from the crowd, which included school students, college students and young professionals from different parts of the country.
Protest Focuses On Education-Related Issues
The CJP raised several demands during the demonstration, with the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan remaining the central issue.
Protesters cited alleged irregularities linked to examination systems, recruitment tests, the NEET paper leak controversy and concerns regarding CBSE’s evaluation processes.
Organisers argued that students and job aspirants deserve a more transparent and accountable education and recruitment system.
The gathering remained peaceful throughout the day, with participants carrying banners, placards and raising slogans related to education reforms.
Sonam Wangchuk Extends Strong Support
Climate activist and education reform advocate Sonam Wangchuk also joined the protest and voiced support for the youth-led campaign.
Before attending the event, Wangchuk shared a video message explaining why he had decided to stand with the protesters.
He said he had spoken directly with Dipke and wanted to ensure that the movement genuinely represented the concerns of Indian youth and was not influenced by any outside interests.
After the conversation, Wangchuk said he was convinced that the organisers were acting with sincere intentions.
“I genuinely felt that they do not have any wrong intentions. They are highly patriotic. In fact, they are making sacrifices to improve the country,” he said.
A Broader Debate On Education Reform
Wangchuk explained that while many participants were mobilising around issues such as alleged examination irregularities, his support came from broader concerns about India’s education system.
He said he had spent nearly four decades working to improve education, particularly in government schools and remote regions.
According to him, discussions about examination reforms should eventually expand into wider conversations about improving the quality of education, strengthening government schools and ensuring equal opportunities for students across urban and rural India.
Growing Attention Around The CJP Movement
The Jantar Mantar protest has brought national attention to the Cockroach Janta Party, which began as an online movement before evolving into a larger youth campaign.
With support from public figures such as Sonam Wangchuk and Prakash Raj, the movement has gained visibility among students and young professionals concerned about education and employment-related issues.
As organisers continue their campaign, the protest has sparked a wider discussion about examination transparency, education reforms and the role of youth movements in shaping public debate.
