Aero India 2027 will be held at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, from February 8 to 12, the Ministry of Defence has confirmed. Registration for exhibitors and booking of exhibition space will open on September 3, giving participating companies and official delegations several months to prepare for the biennial aerospace and defence exhibition.
The announcement confirms Bengaluru as the venue for the 16th edition of Aero India. The Indian Air Force Training Command had earlier confirmed that the city would host the event, with Air Marshal S Shrinivas, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the command, briefing Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar about the preparations on August 4.
Aero India 2027 will take place from February 8-12 at the Air Force Station in Yelahanka, Bengaluru, with exhibitor registration starting September 3. This biennial event highlights India’s aerospace and defence prowess and serves as a platform for global collaboration.

Aero India 2027 To Return To Yelahanka
Bengaluru has hosted Aero India since the event was first held in the city, with the Yelahanka air base becoming closely associated with the show.
The 2027 edition is expected to bring together defence forces, global aerospace companies, public sector undertakings, start-ups, technology firms, policymakers and military delegations from several countries.
While the aircraft and flying displays remain a major attraction, the event has also become an important platform for defence deals, technology partnerships and discussions between governments and industry.
The Ministry of Defence describes Aero India as a major international event showcasing India’s aerospace and defence capabilities. The exhibition provides opportunities for business meetings, technology exchange, international cooperation and strategic discussions.
Why Aero India 2027 Matters
The 2027 edition comes as India continues to push for greater domestic defence production, foreign technology partnerships and higher defence exports.
Aircraft, unmanned systems, avionics, engines, missiles, space-related technologies and maintenance services are expected to feature prominently at the exhibition. Indian companies are also likely to showcase technologies in areas such as drones, electronic warfare, surveillance, simulation, air defence and artificial intelligence.
For Indian defence companies, the event offers an opportunity to meet military officials, foreign buyers and global manufacturers. International companies, meanwhile, can use Aero India to explore partnerships and business opportunities in the Indian market.
The exhibition has also gained importance as India promotes local manufacturing and joint development of defence technologies.
Aero India 2025 Saw Strong International Participation
The scale of the previous edition gives an indication of what to expect in 2027.
Aero India 2025 had 930 exhibitors and covered 42,000 square metres of exhibition space. Defence ministers and deputy ministers from 26 countries attended, while senior officials from more than 80 countries participated in the event.
The 2025 static display featured 34 aircraft, including Russia’s Su-57 and the US-made F-35. The appearance of the two fifth-generation fighter aircraft was among the major attractions of the show.
Indian aircraft, including the Light Combat Aircraft Tejas, also remained a key part of the exhibition and flying displays.
The 2025 edition additionally featured a defence ministers’ conclave and a CEOs’ roundtable, along with bilateral meetings involving senior Indian and foreign officials. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh held meetings with defence ministers from several countries, including Tanzania, Zambia, Algeria, Zimbabwe, Yemen, Ethiopia, Gambia and Gabon.
Aero India To Bring Business And Traffic To Bengaluru
Hosting Aero India also has a significant impact on Bengaluru outside the Yelahanka venue.
Hotels, transport operators, event companies and other support services typically see higher demand during Aero India week. Government agencies also have to coordinate security, traffic management, emergency services and other arrangements around the air base.
With exhibitor registration and exhibition-space booking scheduled to begin on September 3, companies can now start planning their participation, including aircraft displays, pavilions, business meetings and official delegations.
With the dates and venue confirmed, preparations for Aero India 2027 are now moving into the next phase. The focus will turn to exhibitor participation, international delegations and the range of aircraft and defence technologies that will be showcased in Bengaluru in February.
