Amit Shah To Lead Padayatra In Hyderabad On 2 November
The march will start at 3 PM, and Shah will address the gathering at Mozamjahi Chowrasta, Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao told reporters on Friday.
Lawyers, doctors, intellectuals, thousands of BJP workers and members of the public are expected to join the march.
The padayatra comes a day after the Congress holds a public rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi over its allegations of vote chori (vote theft).
BJP Dismisses Congress Allegations Over SIR
Dismissing the Congress’s allegations against the SIR exercise, Rao said Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi has endorsed the exercise conducted in the state.
Referring to the controversy over Booth Level Agents (BLAs) submitting Form-7 applications seeking the removal of voters’ names from electoral rolls, Rao said political parties appoint BLAs to verify whether voters continue to live at their registered addresses.
Form-7 is used to raise objections to the proposed inclusion or deletion of a name from an existing electoral roll.
BJP Questions Congress Protest Over Special Trains
Taking exception to Telangana Congress leaders staging a dharna at the South Central Railway’s zonal headquarters in Hyderabad, Rao alleged that the party was trying to portray Central government organisations in a negative light.
The Congress leaders had protested against the alleged denial of special trains for party workers travelling to Delhi to attend the 1 November protest.
Rao said political parties must follow the prescribed procedures to book special trains. He also pointed out that the South Central Railway is operating 1,000 special trains during the ongoing festival season.
