The All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association (AIDSA) has suspended dentist Muskan Soni from its membership and removed her from the post of Treasurer of its Madhya Pradesh unit for five years with immediate effect. The action follows an Instagram Story in which she allegedly mocked the death of Ketan Agarwal, sparking widespread criticism on social media.
AIDSA suspended dentist Muskan Soni for five years for mocking Ketan Agarwal’s death. The investigation into Agarwal’s alleged murder on June 18 by fiancée Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary is ongoing.
AIDSA Takes Disciplinary Action
According to an official suspension order shared by AIDSA on its social media platforms, the association found Soni guilty of making remarks that violated its ethical standards and code of conduct.
The order stated, “Dr. Muskan Soni, appointed as Treasurer, AIDSA Madhya Pradesh, has been found to have committed acts of indiscipline and made highly inappropriate, offensive, and disrespectful remarks regarding the late Mr. Ketan Agrawal, in violation of the Constitution, Code of Conduct, and ethical values of AIDSA.”
The association further announced that she has been removed from the post of Treasurer and suspended from AIDSA membership for five years with immediate effect.
It added, “Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers vested in the National President and in the interest of maintaining the discipline, dignity, and integrity of the Association, Dr. Muskan Soni is hereby suspended from the post of Treasurer, AIDSA Madhya Pradesh, as well as from the membership of the Association for a period of five (05) year, with immediate effect.”
Viral Video And Public Backlash
The disciplinary action came after a video of Soni went viral online in which she made objectionable comments about Ketan Agarwal’s death. In the clip, she said, “That guy, he had no hair. If you say such lies, you will obviously die”.
The remarks triggered strong reactions across social media, with many users demanding action against her. Following the backlash, Soni released a video apologising for her comments and expressed regret over her statement.
As part of the suspension, AIDSA said Soni will not be permitted to represent the organisation in any official capacity. She has also been barred from participating in meetings, committees, conferences, events, organisational activities, or exercising any rights and responsibilities associated with her office or membership during the suspension period.
Investigation Into Ketan Agarwal Murder Continues
The suspension comes as the investigation into Ketan Agarwal’s death continues in Maharashtra. Police have alleged that Agarwal was murdered by his fiancée, Siya Goyal, and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, at Lohagad Fort in Pune district on June 18. Both accused remain in police custody.
According to police, Agarwal’s mobile phone remained with Goyal for some time before it was handed over to his family. During a recent court hearing, the prosecution said investigators wanted to determine whether any evidence had been deleted or tampered with while the phone was in her possession.
Police Custody Extended Till July 3
The prosecution sought an extension of the police custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary to continue the investigation. Police have alleged that Agarwal was pushed off a cliff at Lohagad Fort on June 18.
The accused were arrested after the incident and have been remanded to police custody till July 3. Investigators are continuing to examine the circumstances surrounding the case. Agarwal and Goyal were reportedly scheduled to get married in November this year.
