A day after appearing in public to cast their votes in Tamil Nadu election, Tollywood’s hottest jodi Ajith Kumar and Shalini celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary.
The first photo of the celebration has been shared by Ajith’s manager on his X account.
Tamil actors Ajith Kumar and Shalini celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary, having met on the sets of ‘Amarkalam’ in 1999 and marrying on April 24, 2000, in Chennai. The couple has two children, Anoushka and Aadvik.

Ajith and Shalini
Ajith Kumar and Shalini’s love story began on the sets of Amarkalam in 1999, where they met while working together and soon developed feelings for each other.
The incident that got the most attention is the accidental wrist injury during filming, after which Ajith reportedly stayed close and helped her recover. Reports say that care and daily interaction turned their bond into a romance over the next year.
They married on 24 April 2000 in Chennai after dating for about a year. Since then, they have kept their relationship low-key, and Shalini stepped away from films after marriage.

Ajith was said to be captivated by Shalini’s grace from the beginning, and their friendship gradually turned into love during the shoot. Reports also say Ajith later spoke openly about his feelings and formally met her family before marriage.

Ajith Kumar arrived at a polling booth in Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai at around 6:45 AM, dressed in a white coat and black sunglasses. He stood in a queue like a common man and cast his vote.
By the time he voted and came out of the polling booth, media and public had gathered in a big numbers.
Shortly after his visit, claims began circulating on social media alleging that Ajith responded “no need for a change” when asked by a reporter about political change. These claims quickly gained traction, sparking debate and speculation about the actor’s political stance.
People interepreted this message as his support to the good work done by the ruling DMK and against voting newly-formed TVK, founded by Vijay.
In response to the growing controversy, Ajith Kumar’s long-time manager Suresh Chandra denied that the actor made any political comment at the polling station.
