Cockroach Janata Party has announced that their protest at Jantar Mantar has ended with immediate effect concluding the 49-days protest. The announcement came after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced his resignation on Saturday evening and then a two members of CJP delegation met with Union Minister JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh. The CJP members then in a press conference alongside JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh announced and appealed the protestors to end the protest peacefully.
The CJP concluded its 49-day protest at Jantar Mantar after reaching an agreement with government ministers JP Nadda and Jitendra Singh, who promised to consider demands including FIR withdrawals and compensation for NEET victim families.
Centre and CJP Reach Agreement
While speaking after the meeting with government, CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said that government has agreed to consider all the demands of the protest. These demands includes Dharmendra Pradhan, FIR withdrawals against the students, and also financial supports to the families who lost their children by suicide.
“We had demanded compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of NEET victims. The government has agreed to this, stating that an honorary compensation will be given to those families under whatever rules and regulations allow. Apart from this, we also placed a five-point demand charter before the government, which talked about broader educational reforms and exam reforms,” Das said.
He also added that the government has agreed that they will hold a meeting with CJP within next four weeks to discuss the long term changes.
Protesters Asked to Return Home
Another member of CJP team and their national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka also added that the movement had been successful and asked the protestors to now leave the place peacefully.
“All our demands have been accepted, so we request the protesters to withdraw immediately and return home peacefully. We will inform you of our future strategy or any other issues. But we request the protesters to withdraw immediately,” Ranka added.
What the Government Promised
In a joint press conference, Union Minister JP Nadda said that no action will be taken against the protestors and FIRs will be dropped as soon as possible.

While addressing the joint press conference, JP Nadda said, “If any FIRs have already been registered, whether by the Delhi Police or in BJP-ruled states, the government will provide copies of those FIRs to them.”
Union Health Minister JP Nadda also said that they will also give financial support to the families who have lost their children due to paper leak.
