The All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET), which took place in Jaipur on Saturday, was hampered by an unexpected power failure in one of the exam centres during the first slot of the test.
A power failure at a Jaipur exam center disrupted the AIAPGET postgraduate entrance test on Saturday, preventing 49 candidates from completing it. The NTA will conduct a re-examination for these affected candidates on September 1 at Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur.
Several candidates found themselves unable to give the test due to this power failure, while some candidates expressed apprehensions about discussion among candidates of the question paper during this period.
The NTA has now announced that a re-examination will be held for the 49 affected candidates.
Power Cut Disrupts AIAPGET Exam In Jaipur
The accident occurred at Shri Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur where students were giving their exams for the AIAPGET first shift exam.
The NTA says that there was a failure in the electricity supply at 10:20 am. Even though a generator was activated after some time, it did have an effect on the examination process.
There were 192 students who were supposed to give the exam in the Jaipur centre out of which 49 were unable to complete the exam due to the power outage.
Candidates Raise Concerns Over Question Paper Discussion
The chaos resulted in claims by certain candidates regarding the manipulation of the examination process.
Even though extra time was offered to the candidates, there were claims by some students that the questions in the paper had already been reviewed by the candidates during the power failure.
The candidates claimed that increasing the time for the examination would not address their problems. They requested the cancellation of the first shift examination and conduct it again.
NTA Confirms Re-Examination For 49 Candidates
According to NTA, AIAPGET was held for 36,979 registered candidates in shift-I on August 22. There were 35,837 candidates who attended the exam from 200 centers across the nation.
According to NTA, the exam was successfully conducted for 35,788 candidates.
In the center of Shri Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur, 49 out of 192 candidates were unable to write their exams due to the power breakdown.
NTA blamed the interruption on M/S Eduquity Career Technologies Private Limited, which is an agency to conduct the exam.
After assessing the entire situation, NTA decided to hold a new exam for the candidates.
AIAPGET Re-Exam On September 1
The re-examination for the 49 affected candidates will be held on September 1 at 10 am in Jaipur.
The examination will take place at Rajasthan College of Engineering for Women, Jaipur.
The NTA said revised admit cards containing details of the re-examination will be issued to the affected candidates. Candidates have been advised to check the revised admit cards and follow the instructions provided by the agency.
The NTA also expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the disruption.
The re-examination is intended to provide the affected candidates with another opportunity to complete AIAPGET under proper examination conditions.
