Apple has unveiled a new AI and health features to the Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. The new watches come with the feature that can recognise important sounds that help users catch parts of conversations which they have missed.

It will also come with the feature of providing more personalised health information to user. With that Apple has also upgraded the sensor inside both the models that improves health tracking.
New AI feature can recognise sounds
One of the major features of the watch is Sound Recognition. The watch uses AI directly to identify sounds such as sirens, alarms, doorbells and a crying baby.
The feature will even work when the user’s iPhone is not near to them. This will be a additional feature to the people who may not hear these sounds very easily.
The interesting thing is that Apple is also adding a time machine kind of feature Live Rewind. It will transcribe the previous 15 seconds of conversation that will give users to check if they have missed something.
Siri Recap summarises conversations
Another new feature is Siri Recap. It uses information picked up from the surrounding environment to create short summaries and key points from conversations.
Apple says users can choose when Siri Recap takes notes. The company has also focused on privacy. Raw audio is not recorded or stored by the feature.
Live Rewind and Siri Recap are expected to become available in beta later in 2026.
Health tracking gets a major upgrade

The Health app is also getting a new design with AI-powered health insights and personalised guidance. A new Health Age feature can compare health information with a person’s actual age.
It uses Apple Watch data such as VO2 max and sleep information. Users can also add blood-test information to get a broader view of their health.
New sensors aim to improve readings
The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 also come with an upgraded Health Sensor system. Apple has improved the ECG and optical sensors, including larger green LEDs and ring-shaped photodiodes.
These changes have made to make health readings more accurate. With these new AI and second features shows that Apple is now focusing more on everyday health assistance device not just a upgrade watch.
