The point left City four behind the league leaders with only one round left, making it impossible to catch Mikel Arteta’s side.
The title race had been expected to go to the final day, with City scheduled to host Aston Villa and Arsenal due to visit Crystal Palace. However, City needed a victory at any cost to stay alive in the chase. The draw confirmed Arsenal’s position at the top, ending three straight seasons of finishing runners-up.

The decisive league moment came in Bournemouth, where Junior Kroupi struck first in the 38th minute to damage City’s hopes. Erling Haaland equalised in the 94th minute of stoppage time, yet City could not find a winner. That late miss ensured Arsenal’s long wait for another Premier League trophy finally ended.
