Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor LG Manoj Sinha said on Friday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi strengthened national unity by ending Article 370. Sinha said the move completed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s “unfinished dream\”. Sinha linked the change to the idea of Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat and said it reinforced India’s constitutional integration.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said the abrogation of Article 370 fulfilled Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s unfinished dream and strengthened the idea of Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat. Speaking at Gujarat and Maharashtra Foundation-Day celebrations, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership with boosting national confidence, unity, and development goals towards India’s 2047 vision.

Speaking at the Foundation-Day celebrations of Gujarat and Maharashtra at the Jammu and Kashmir Lok Bhavan, Sinha credited Modi’s leadership for a wider shift. Sinha said India gained stronger confidence, dignity and progress under Modi. Sinha also pointed to a growing sense of self-respect among citizens and said it supported national goals.

Article 370 abrogation and Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat

Sinha said the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, was central to this change. Sinha said it fulfilled Patel’s long-held aim of deeper unity. Sinha said the decision strengthened the foundation of Ek Bharat, Shreshth Bharat. Sinha added that Modi’s leadership encouraged people to turn resolve into action.

Sinha said Modi’s leadership over the last 12 years reshaped the country with development and determination. Sinha said the changes inspired citizens across regions. Sinha also said the Indian diaspora around the world was feeling pride. Sinha said this came as Modi restored the country’s timeless prestige.

Sinha said every section of society was coming together around a shared national direction. Sinha said the goal was a developed India by 2047. Sinha described this as a broad vision that linked progress with dignity. Sinha said this shared purpose was helping unite citizens across social and regional lines.

Gujarat and Maharashtra growth engines in India’s GDP and exports

Turning to the two states being celebrated, Sinha called Gujarat and Maharashtra the country’s growth engines. Sinha said both states made major contributions to India’s Gross Domestic Product GDP and exports. Sinha also said the states carried rich social, cultural and spiritual legacies alongside their economic roles.

Sinha said Gujarat’s soil was known for shaping an entrepreneurial spirit, zeal, simplicity and warmth. Sinha said Maharashtra earned global respect for enterprise, valour and spiritual genius. Sinha presented these traits as part of each state’s identity. Sinha said these strengths helped drive India’s broader development path.

Gujarat and Maharashtra leaders and India’s unity in diversity

Sinha said Gujarat produced leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Patel and Modi. Sinha said these leaders changed India’s destiny through resolve, dedication and self-belief. Sinha also said India’s pride as the world’s largest democracy was rooted in Patel’s ideals. Sinha said those ideals centred on unity in diversity.

On Maharashtra, Sinha said the state was known for industries, spirituality, selfless service and sacrifice. Sinha said the state remembered figures such as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Peshwa Bajirao, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Sinha said these icons were noted for contributions to national unity.
