A new chapter of development is unfolding in the remote forests of Bastar, where healthcare services are now reaching villages once considered inaccessible due to difficult terrain and security challenges.

Bastar Health Camps Reach Remote Villages

Under the Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan, a health department team undertook a challenging 13-kilometre trek through dense forests and hilly terrain to reach Badepalli village in the Bailadila region of Dantewada district. The team organized a comprehensive health camp, bringing essential medical services directly to residents.

The Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan enabled a 13-kilometre trek to Badepalli in Dantewada, delivering a mobile health camp that examined 227 residents, conducted malaria, diabetes, hypertension and haemoglobin screenings, and provided on-the-spot medications and referrals. The initiative aims to expand remote healthcare access and awareness in Bastar.

During the camp, healthcare professionals conducted medical examinations of 227 villagers. Screening and diagnostic tests for malaria, sickle cell disease, haemoglobin levels, diabetes, and high blood pressure were carried out. Patients requiring immediate attention received free medicines and primary treatment on the spot.

Special emphasis was placed on the health of women and children. During the examinations, a high-risk pregnant woman was identified and referred to the district hospital for advanced medical care and safe delivery. In addition, 12 patients suffering from hypertension and diabetes were referred to higher healthcare centres for specialized treatment.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the state government remains committed to extending quality healthcare services to the remotest parts of Bastar. He noted that the Mukhyamantri Swasth Bastar Abhiyan is ensuring that villagers receive timely treatment and essential health services closer to their homes.

Apart from medical treatment, the health department team also conducted awareness sessions on the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, nutrition, hygiene, and safe motherhood practices. Officials said the campaign aims not only to improve access to healthcare in remote regions but also to increase public awareness about health and wellness. Local residents welcomed the initiative, stating that access to healthcare in such remote villages was once extremely difficult. Regular health camps and increased administrative outreach have strengthened public confidence and improved access to essential services.

The initiative reflects a broader transformation taking place across Bastar. Areas once associated with remoteness and underdevelopment are increasingly witnessing improved public services, stronger administrative presence, and growing trust among local communities.
