With Karnataka Okkuta calling for a statewide 12-hour bandh on Thursday from 6 am to 6 pm, bus services from Bengaluru to Tamil Nadu have been suspended temporarily as a precautionary measure.
The suspension, ordered following police instructions, has affected buses operating from the Satellite Bus Stand to several destinations across Tamil Nadu, including Ooty, Salem, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Kanchipuram, Cuddalore, Chidambaram, Tiruttani, Thiruvallur, Vandavasi and other towns.
Due to Karnataka Okkuta’s statewide bandh on Thursday, bus services from Bengaluru to Tamil Nadu have been temporarily suspended as a precaution, while intra-state bus services and cab services at Bengaluru Airport continue to operate normally.
However, bus services within Karnataka have largely resumed. KSRTC buses are operating on several routes, including those connecting Mysuru, Mandya, Ramanagara, Channapatna, Madikeri, Mangaluru and other parts of the state.
Cabs available at Bengaluru airport
Despite concerns among passengers over the Karnataka bandh, cab services at Kempegowda International Airport have continued to operate normally.
A large number of passengers were seen at the airport in the morning, with some arriving early amid uncertainty over transport availability. However, cabs remained available at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, with no significant disruption reported in passenger pickups or drop-offs.
Earlier, Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) has issued a passenger advisory saying,”Passengers travelling to and from BLR Airport are advised that taxi and bus services may be impacted due to anticipated disruptions to transport services across parts of Bengaluru.”
”Please plan your journey in advance, leave earlier than usual, allow additional travel time, and consider alternative modes of transport where appropriate. Airport operations remain unaffected,” it said.
Passengers travelling to and from BLR Airport are advised that taxi and bus services may be impacted due to anticipated disruptions to transport services across parts of Bengaluru.

App-based cab services are also operating normally, allowing passengers to book rides from the airport.
Police have increased security arrangements within the airport premises as a precautionary measure, but airport cab operations have not been affected by the bandh so far.
