A 21-year-old woman was allegedly abducted from her home in Bengaluru by four men who were reportedly sent by her family after she married her boyfriend against their wishes. The incident triggered a chase through the city, with the vehicle carrying the woman crashing into several other vehicles and injuring six people.
The woman, identified as Pooja, daughter of Gunaramu, is from Rajasthan. She had married 23-year-old Om Prakash, also from Rajasthan, around eight to nine months ago. The couple reportedly married against their families’ wishes before moving to Bengaluru.

According to Bengaluru Police, the four men arrived at the couple’s home in Agrahara Dasarahalli on Wednesday evening. They allegedly forced Pooja into a Hyundai Venue and fled the area.
As Om Prakash dialled the police helpline, the getaway vehicle sped away rashly through the neighbourhood.
People nearby reportedly heard her screams and attempted to intervene. The incident soon turned into a chase, with some locals following the vehicle in an attempt to stop the men.
Around 8 pm, the Venue allegedly crashed into multiple vehicles while trying to escape. Six people were injured in the collision, police said. The injured Prithviraj (12), Yashika (9), Amul (35), Mani (64), Santosh (33) and Jayalakshmi (57) were sent to local hospital for the treatment.
Jayalakshmi suffered a head injury and was admitted to an ICU, according to the police.
The accused has been identified as Saddam, Rakesh, Karan and Ayan were travelling in a Hyundai Venue (RJ 22 CC 9691). The vehicle and three of the accused are now in police custody while Saddam the alleged driver remains on the run. Police said that efforts are underway to arrest him and the further investigation is ongoing.
