Bengaluru Power Cut on June 25: Several parts of Bengaluru are likely to face power cuts on Thursday as Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) carries out maintenance work at multiple 66/11 kV stations and power supply infrastructure across the city.

The power shutdown is scheduled between 10 am and 5 pm in some areas, while in others it will be from 10 am to 4 pm, depending on the sub-station and maintenance work being taken up. Officials said the interruption is necessary to carry out emergency and routine maintenance at key substations.

Parts of Bengaluru will face power cuts on June 25 due to KPTCL emergency maintenance at Yellar Bande MUSS and Rajankunte substations, affecting areas like RT Nagar and Honnenahalli between 10 am and 5 pm.

Three major power supply zones are expected to be affected – Yellar Bande MUSS, Rajankunte sub-station, and Subramanyapura & ISRO Layout Power Station areas.

In the Yellar Bande MUSS limits, power supply will be disrupted from 11 am to 5 pm. Areas likely to be affected include RT Nagar, Nagawara, Thanisandra, BEL Layout, Kempapura, Veerannapalya and surrounding localities.

Under the Rajankunte sub-station, power cuts are scheduled from 10 am to 4 pm. Honnenahalli, Rajankunte, Singanayakanahalli, Marasandra, Nelakunte and nearby villages are expected to face interruptions.

In south Bengaluru, power supply will also be affected under the Subramanyapura and ISRO Layout Power Station limits from 10 am to 4 pm. The affected areas include Gubbalala, Uttarahalli (part), ISRO Layout Industrial Area, Adarsha Apartments I & II, Mantri Tranquill Apartments, Maruthi Layout, Bharath Layout, Doddakallasandra Industrial Area, Agara, Kumaraswamy Layout, Vittal Nagar, Yelachenahalli, Arehalli, Ittamadu, AGS Layout, Chikkalasandra, TG Layout, Bhuvaneshwarinagar and surrounding areas.

Other localities under the same feeder include Vivekananda Colony, Pragathipura, Sarbandepalya, Prathibha Industrial Area, Supreme Leather Garments zone, Chandranagar, Kashi Nagar, Vikram Nagar, Nanjappa Layout, Bikashipura, Teachers Colony, JHBCS Layout, Bendrenagar, Eshwar Nagar, Miniyaznagar, Kanaka Layout and Kanaka Nagar.

KPTCL said the maintenance work is being taken up to improve power reliability and strengthen infrastructure across these substations. Residents have been advised to plan ahead and make arrangements for essential services such as water pumps, lifts and home-based work that depend on electricity.

The total outage duration is expected to range between 6 to 7 hours across different areas depending on the sub-station schedule.

Power supply was also affected in several Bengaluru localities on Tuesday, June 24, due to maintenance work.

Under the Padmanabhanagar sub-station, power supply was disrupted from 10 am to 4 pm in Banagiri Nagar, BSK 2nd Stage, Padmanabhanagar, Rajiv Nagar, Kadirenahalli, Yarab Nagar, BMTC Depot and nearby areas.

Areas under the NRS and Telecom Layout substations also faced power cuts from 10 am to 5 pm.

Meanwhile, under the Sahakara Nagar sub-station, supply was affected from 10 am to 4 pm in Talacauvery Layout, Amruthahalli, BGS Layout, Navya Nagar Block, Batarayanapura, Jakkur Layout, GKVK Layout, Amruth Nagar, Sampigehalli, Hosahalli, Rajajinagar, Shivanagar, Manjunath Nagar, Agrahara Dasarahalli, Gayatri Nagar, Subramanya Nagar and surrounding localities.

BESCOM Power Cut Survival Guide

Knowing the exact hours BESCOM is pulling the plug gives you the power to actively outsmart the system.

Instead of competing for a tiny table at a crowded, noisy cafe, gather 2 or 3 WFH friends in your area who are facing the same cut.

Pool your money and use platforms like Breather, Awfis, or WeWork On-Demand to book a private 4-person meeting room or private office booth for just the 5-hour duration of the cut. This way, it splits the cost to practically nothing, guarantees you private high-speed enterprise Wi-Fi, and gives you actual desk space to take calls without hearing a barista steaming milk in the background.

Or If you want the absolute best way to handle this without ever leaving your house, buy a dedicated 12V Router UPS (brands like Cuzor or Oakter cost around ₹1,000-₹1,500). It sits between your wall outlet and your Wi-Fi router.

When BESCOM shuts down the power grid, your router doesn’t even blink; it automatically draws from the UPS battery. Because a router uses very little power, these tiny boxes easily keep your home Wi-Fi alive for 4 to 6 hours-allowing you to work from your own desk in peace.

If you don’t want to spend a single rupee but need air conditioning and solid cell reception, pack your fully-charged setup and head to a major mall (like Phoenix Marketcity, Nexus Koramangala, or Orion).
