Reports suggest that Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is set to return as the host of Bigg Boss 20, with filming expected to begin around September 21. Although the makers have not officially confirmed the development, early production buzz around the milestone season has already generated strong interest among viewers.

The upcoming season marks the 20th edition of Bigg Boss, one of India’s most successful and long-running reality television formats. Over the years, the show has become a staple of prime-time entertainment, known for its dramatic format, celebrity contestants, and high audience engagement.

Reports suggest Salman Khan will host Bigg Boss 20, with filming possibly beginning September 21 and the season expected to air in late 2026. This milestone season continues the reality show’s format, maintained by Khan’s decade-long association.

Bigg Boss 20 Salman Khan Likely To Return As Host Filming May Begin On September 21

According to reports, preliminary preparations for Bigg Boss 20 are currently underway despite the absence of an official announcement from the broadcaster. Industry sources indicate that Salman Khan is expected to begin shooting promotional content and initial episodes from September 21.

If the proposed schedule remains unchanged, the makers are planning a quick turnaround between filming and telecast, ensuring the show returns to television within a short window after production begins. The format is expected to retain its core structure, which has played a key role in maintaining its popularity over the years.

Salman Khan’s Long Association With Bigg Boss

Salman Khan has been associated with Bigg Boss for more than a decade and continues to remain the face of the show’s weekend episodes. His role typically involves interacting with contestants, addressing controversies inside the house, and guiding the narrative of the show during eliminations and special segments.

His expected return for the 20th season is seen as a move that maintains continuity for the franchise, even as fans await official confirmation from the production house and broadcaster.

Contestant Speculation Builds Ahead of Season 20

While the makers have kept contestant details strictly confidential, reports suggest that a mix of new faces and former contestants may be considered for the milestone season. However, no official names have been announced yet, and speculation continues to circulate on social media.

The show is also expected to follow its traditional airing schedule, likely premiering in the latter half of 2026.

On the film front, Salman Khan is currently working on an upcoming action entertainer directed by Vamshi Paidipally and co-starring Nayanthara. Sources indicate that the actor is managing his schedule to accommodate both film and television commitments.

He is also expected to appear in Maatrubhumi: May War Rest, directed by Apoorva Lakhia, alongside Chitrangda Singh in a key role.

The previous season, Bigg Boss 19, concluded on December 7, 2025, with Anupamaa actor Gaurav Khanna winning the title and a cash prize of ₹50 lakh. Farhana Bhat finished as the runner-up.
