A video is going viral on social media these days which has questioned the way Bihar Police is filing cases against the NEET paper leak protestors and identifying them. In the video, a man whose name is Muhammad Sadaqat has claimed that he has been named in police case connected with 24 July Protest in Bahadurganj, Kishanganj district in Bihar. Although, he has been living in Russia for last four months.
Muhammad Sadaqat claims Bihar Police mistakenly named him in a July 24th NEET protest case in Kishanganj, despite his presence in Russia for four months, as Bihar Police moved to withdraw cases against protestors registered before July 26th.
However, Police has not confirmed anything related to the case but has said if anyone with grievances can approach to Police and make the clarification.
Man Seeks Removal of His Name From FIR
In the viral video, the man says that he is Muhammad Sadaqat, a resident of Ward 12 in Bahardurganj, he says that he is been living in Russia for last four months and that’s why it’s not possible for him to be present at LRP Chowk protest on 24 July.
He while appealing to Police said, He appealed to the administration to remove his name from the case, saying, “On the 24th (of July), there was a protest against the NEET leek, at LRP Chowk, and the Bahadurganj administration have named me in that. I have been in Russia for the past four months. Since I am in Russia, I request the administration to remove my name from there. I will remain indebted to the administration for this.”
Police Respond, Say Complaints Can Be Raised
On the other hand, Kishanganj Superintendent of Police, Hari Mohan Shukla didn’t confirm if Sadaqat has been included in FIR or not. However, he has said that if he believes that he has been wrongly named in the case and directly approach to Police for redressal.
If Mohammad Sadaqat has been living in Russia for the past four months, then the circumstances under which a case was registered against him deserve a fair and transparent investigation.

Cases Against Protesters Being Withdrawn
This has become controversy after the demand of cases against the NEET protestors should be withdrawal. This became bigger after Cockroach Janta Party asked for the withdrawal of FIRs against protestors as one of their key demands.
According to a notification issued by Bihar Police, all FIRs, and complaints and show-cause notices related to the protest occurred before 6 AM on 26 July will be drawn. The government also said that people who were arrested will be released.
