Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, calling him the party’s “eternal youth product” and accusing the Congress of repeatedly relaunching him as a youth icon despite his age and electoral setbacks.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma described Rahul Gandhi as an “eternal youth product,” stating Congress repeatedly relaunches him as a youth icon, similar to product marketing and echoing PM Modi’s critique of the party’s leadership strategy.
Sarma said he agreed with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s criticism that the Congress keeps presenting the same leader in a new way instead of bringing forward fresh leadership. He used a product-launch analogy to target Rahul Gandhi, arguing that the party continues to promote him as a young face even though he is 57 years old.
In his remarks, Sarma also referred to Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips, describing them as a “cooling-off period” after political setbacks.
Himanta Sarma Says Congress Keeps Relaunching Rahul Gandhi
Sarma said the Congress was trying to present a 57-year-old Rahul Gandhi as a youth and Gen Z leader. He added sarcastically that, by the same logic, he could also be called Gen Z because he is the same age.
VIDEO | Assam: “If Congress can classify a 57-year-old as Gen Z, then I am also Gen Z, going by that logic. Congress has discovered Rahul Gandhi as an eternal youth product who never grows old or matures. Every time, he is relaunched as a youth icon. They keep trying to launch a failed product,” says Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The Assam chief minister described Rahul Gandhi as an “eternal youth product” who, according to him, is repeatedly relaunched by the Congress as a youth icon.
Sarma’s remarks appeared to echo Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s criticism of the Congress leadership. He accused the party of relying on the same face rather than introducing a new political product or developing fresh leadership.
The comments were political criticism by Sarma and reflected his view of the Congress’s leadership strategy.
‘Customers Get Tired Of Seeing The Same Product,’ Sarma Says
Continuing his product analogy, Sarma said that while the person launching a product may never get tired of promoting it, customers can eventually become tired of seeing it repeatedly.
He said, “Jo launch karta hai wo thakta nahi hai, lekin customer usko dekhte dekhte thak jata hai.”
Translated into English, Sarma meant that the person launching a product does not get tired, but the audience may grow tired of seeing the same product again and again.
He also mocked Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips, suggesting that after a political failure, the Congress leader goes abroad for a cooling-off period before returning to be presented to the public again.
Sarma’s comments focused on the Congress’s continued reliance on Rahul Gandhi as a prominent national leader. By comparing him to a product that is repeatedly relaunched, the Assam chief minister questioned the party’s efforts to position him as a youth icon.
