Abhijeet Dipke, Founding President of Cockroach Janta Party, has taken potshot at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan submitted resignation allegedly over the irregularities in the NEET and paper leak.
In his first response to the development, Dipke appealed to people not to make his hero even as his followers lifted him in celebratory mode with Dr BR Ambedkar’s portrait in hand.
Cockroach Janta Party leader Abhijeet Dipke commented on Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation regarding NEET irregularities, cautioning against personality cults, as activist Sonam Wangchuk continued protests demanding compensation and accountability.
He said, “I want to say something very important. Don’t make me a hero because Dharmendra Pradhan resigned today. Don’t make this mistake. Don’t make me a hero because of Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation. The country has been ruined because of making one person a hero…”
His remarks appeared to be an indirect criticism of what BJP’s opponents often describe as the personality-centric politics built around Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been the party’s principal campaign face for nearly two decades.
However, Dipike said that Pradhan’s resignation is “proof that if you don’t get scared, you can win”. He further claimed, “If there is no Hindu Muslim politics, if there is only issue based politics, then big thrones will be shaken. When we rise above Hindu and Muslim politics and talk about issues, then it will be good for the country…”
The Cockroach Janta Party launched the NEET and examination-related protests at Jantar Mantar on June 6. Their primary demand has been reforms in the education system to fix the leaks and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Ladakhi environmentalist and education activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the demonstration at Jantar Mantar on June 28. He started an indefinite hunger strike and he was forcefully taken to hospital on July 18.

He continued the protest from hospital before calling it off after receiving assurances from the Centre on accountability in the examination system.
However, the protests will continue. He added, “There’s no need to be afraid. This is democracy. He has resigned, but we have two more demands. We won’t go like this. Dharmendra Pradhan has resigned. But the families of the children who committed suicide should receive compensation of one crore rupees. They should get it. One crore rupees compensation to all those families. And second, these police goons who acted on the 20th. Action must be taken against the police officers for that. Remember, do not mess with cockroaches…”
