Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta presented the awards to officials from departments including Education, Revenue, Planning, Labour, and others, citing measurable improvements in governance and public services.

The awards went to public servants whose work improved governance and the delivery of public services. The Department of Administrative Reforms organised the event. Awarded officers received medals and commendation certificates. The Delhi government also said the awards will now be presented every year on Civil Services Day.

Chief Ministers Awards selection process and categories

A high-level committee assessed nominations before the honours were announced. The panel was chaired by the chief secretary. It also included administrative secretaries from several departments. Senior officials from the administrative reforms department were also part of it. The awards were given across three categories, the statement said.

The government said the names of awardees will be released each year in April. This schedule links the recognition programme to Civil Services Day each year. Officials said the awards are meant to acknowledge practical changes in governance. They also aim to support better public service delivery across departments.

Chief Ministers Awards recipients from Delhi departments

The CMO statement listed awardees from several offices and departments. These included Veditha Reddy Directorate of Education, Sunny K Singh, Ajay Kumar, Kumar Abhishek and Vibhav Shukla all from the Revenue department. The list also named Ajay Kumar Bisht Services, DB Gupta Planning, Pradeep Tayal GAD, Sanjeev Gosain Food and Civil Supplies and Arvind Kumar Labour.

Other recipients named in the statement were Dr Munisha Agrawal, Dr Praveen Kumar, Krishna Kumar Singh, K Murugan, Lata Kumari Negi, Dr Chetna Anand, Shurbir Singh, and Jitendra Yadav MCD. The list also included K Mahesh and Tapasya Raghav, among others. The statement said the honours recognised distinguished service.

Chief Ministers Awards remarks by Sandhu and Gupta

Speaking at the function, Lieutenant Governor Sandhu said civil service is not just about administrative responsibility, but about upholding the trust of the people. Chief Minister Gupta also spoke about the role of public service. Gupta described civil service as not just a career, but a commitment to nation-building.

“We are committed to taking Delhi to global standards through innovation and citizen-centric policies,\” Gupta said. The statement added that Gupta said the city is observing Civil Services Day with a seriousness and scale it truly deserves. The Delhi government said the awards aim to keep attention on public trust and better delivery.
