Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta conducted a surprise inspection at Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital, underlining the government’s push to strengthen public healthcare delivery and ensure better patient experience across facilities in the capital.
During the visit, the Chief Minister interacted with patients and their families to understand their concerns firsthand and assess the quality of services being provided. She also held detailed discussions with doctors, nursing staff, and hospital administrators to review existing arrangements and identify gaps in infrastructure and service delivery.

CM Rekha Gupta emphasised that Delhi’s healthcare system must evolve to become more modern, efficient, and compassionate. She directed officials to prioritise timely treatment, improve hospital infrastructure, and ensure that every patient is treated with dignity and care. The Chief Minister highlighted that public hospitals should not only provide medical treatment but also create a supportive and comfortable environment for patients and their attendants.

With the summer season approaching, special focus was placed on preparedness. The hospital administration was instructed to ensure adequate stock of essential medicines, uninterrupted availability of clean drinking water, and strict maintenance of hygiene and sanitation standards. Officials were also asked to enhance patient convenience by streamlining processes and reducing waiting times.
The Chief Minister reiterated that citizen-centric healthcare remains a key priority for the government. She stressed that regular monitoring and accountability are essential to maintaining high standards in public health institutions.
The surprise inspection reflects a broader effort by the Delhi government to improve healthcare infrastructure and service quality, ensuring that residents receive timely, accessible, and reliable medical care, especially during periods of increased seasonal demand.
