The Enforcement Directorate has arrested former Trinamool Congress MLA from Bidhannagar, Sujit Bose, in connection with an alleged municipal recruitment scam. The former West Bengal fire services minister was taken into custody on Monday after a long round of questioning at the agency’s Salt Lake office.
Officials questioned Sujit Bose for close to 10 hours before placing the former minister under arrest. Sources indicated that the Enforcement Directorate may produce Sujit Bose in court on 12 May 2026. Before that, Sujit Bose is likely to undergo a medical examination at a hospital.
