Jude Bellingham made the difference as England beat Norway 2-1, achieving a spot in the World Cup semi-finals for the first time since 2018. This was Bellingham’s second goal of the match, as he had also netted the equalizer earlier on.
The Real Madrid player is now even with teammate Harry Kane as the tournament’s joint top scorer with six goals, trailing behind France’s Kylian Mbappé and Argentina’s Lionel Messi who have eight goals each to their names. He also scored two goals in the Round of 16, helping England defeat co-host Mexico.
Jude Bellingham scored twice, including the winning goal in the third minute of extra time, to lead England past Norway 2-1 into the World Cup semifinals for the first time since 2018, after Norway’s Andreas Schjelderup had scored their only goal.
The Three Lions, the 1966 FIFA World Cup winners, just one match away from reaching the finals again.
The next opponents for England will be either Switzerland or Argentina, who were set to take the pitch that night.

Norway took the lead in the 36th after Andreas Schjelderup scored that helped them advance to the quarterfinals for the first time this year and ignite a social media frenzy with its “Viking row” and the breathtaking play of 6-foot-5 forward Erling Haaland.
In the first half, Pickford stopped Haaland from scoring with an attempt that saw him try to score from close range. With just his second start of the competition, Schjelderup scored an astonishing goal after his shot hit off the right post.
Bellingham timely scored an important goal that sent the crowd, which included music maverick Mick Jagger and English football legend David Beckham, into a frenzy. Schjelderup’s involvement in the game can be traced back to the penultimate match where he set up both of Haaland’s goals in the match against Brazil.
At that moment, however, Kane was writhing in pain, had tightness in his legs and looked in the direction of the referees as the foul went unpunished. Even before Bellingham scored, a kick from Norway hit an aerial camera wire and fell comfortably for Elliot Anderson.
After that, Anderson passed the ball to Bellingham who scored England’s first goal of the match.
