Pakistan endured a night to forget against India in the Women’s Asia Cup as their batting line-up completely collapsed, leaving them with their lowest-ever total in women’s T20I cricket.
Pakistan was dismissed for their lowest-ever T20I total of 55 runs against India in Dubai during the Women’s Asia Cup, with Sree Charani taking 3 wickets for 7 runs and Prema Rawat also claiming three.
India dismissed Pakistan for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs in Dubai on Saturday. The Indian spin trio of Sree Charani, Deepti Sharma and Prema Rawat played a major role in dismantling the Pakistan batting order.
Charani was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with 3 wickets for just 7 runs, while Rawat also claimed three wickets.
Pakistan Lose 7 Wickets for Just 28 Runs
Pakistan initially appeared capable of putting up a competitive score.
They reached 27 runs in 4.2 overs, although India missed a few opportunities in the field during the early stages. Pratika Rawal was unable to hold on to some chances, while India’s fast bowlers also struggled to make an early impact.
The game changed dramatically once Harmanpreet Kaur brought Shafali Verma into the attack. Shafali provided the breakthrough by removing Muneeba Ali, and Pakistan’s batting began to unravel soon after.
From 29 for three, Pakistan slipped to 35 for six, losing three more wickets in quick succession.
Sree Charani Sparks Pakistan’s Batting Collapse
Sree Charani proved almost impossible for the Pakistan batters to handle.
The young spinner dismissed Gull Feroza and then maintained relentless pressure on the Pakistan line-up.
Charani conceded only seven runs in her spell while taking three wickets, giving Pakistan virtually no opportunity to rebuild.
Her performance was particularly impressive against a batting line-up that needed to spend time at the crease after losing early wickets.
Deepti Sharma Removes Pakistan Captain
Another big blow came from Deepti Sharma when she dismissed Pakistan’s captain Fatima Sana. Fatima was not able to get off the mark and fell for a duck off only seven balls.
This dismissal made the situation even worse for Pakistan and created many problems for their lower order. The Indian team kept on taking wickets and Pakistan got all out for only 55 runs.
Pakistan’s Lowest-Ever Women’s T20I Score
The disaster has created an unwanted record for Pakistan. 55 all out is now their lowest score in women’s T20 International cricket.
Pakistan’s previous lowest scores are 56 against New Zealand in 2024, also played in Dubai. Other lowest scores of Pakistan are 60 against England in 2009, 63 against India in 2012, 64/9 against Bangladesh in 2023 and 65/9 against New Zealand in 2010.
Pakistan’s Lowest Women’s T20I Totals
Pakistan’s lowest-ever total in Women’s T20I cricket is 55 all out against India in Dubai in 2026. Their previous lowest score was 56 all out against New Zealand in Dubai in 2024.
Pakistan’s other low totals include 60 all out against England in Taunton in 2009, followed by 63 all out against India in Guangzhou in 2012. They also scored 64/9 against Bangladesh in Hangzhou in 2023 and 65/9 against New Zealand in Basseterre in 2010.
India’s Spinners Turn the Match Around
The performance of India’s bowlers was particularly commendable considering that not everything went in favor for them initially.
The missed opportunities and poor spell from the bowlers gave a boost to Pakistan’s confidence initially.
However, when the spinners took to the field, India had full control of the match.
Charani and Rawat kept on finding ways to get through Pakistan’s batsmen, while Deepti added experience and composure to the game.
The inability of Pakistan to rotate the strike and develop any partnership proved fatal for them.
Pakistan Again Hits Shameful Peak
For Pakistan, the innings exposed serious problems in handling India’s spin attack.
After making a relatively steady start, they lost wickets in clusters and failed to recover.
The 55-run total also means Pakistan will have plenty to address with the knockout stages of the tournament approaching.
For India, the performance was another strong display of their bowling depth, particularly in the spin department.
