A batting spectacle unfolded in Match 36 of the Indian Premier League 2026 as Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad clashed at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. While Rajasthan dazzled with the bat early on, Hyderabad had the final say in a high-scoring contest.
Put in to bat, RR rode on a sensational knock from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who lit up the evening with a blistering 103 off just 37 balls. His aggressive strokeplay put SRH on the back foot from the outset. Dhruv Jurel played a steady hand with a well-made 51, while Donovan Ferreira added late impetus with 33. Despite the fireworks, Rajasthan’s innings tapered slightly, finishing at 228-competitive, but not quite out of reach on a batting-friendly surface.
Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a five-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2026 Match 36 after chasing down RR’s formidable total of 228, which featured a rapid 103 from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, while Ishan Kishan’s 74 and Abhishek Sharma’s 57 were key for SRH.
Hyderabad’s bowling effort was shared, with Eshan Malinga leading the way with two wickets, while Pat Cummins and others chipped in.

The chase began with a jolt as Jofra Archer removed Travis Head early. But that was as good as it got for RR. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma launched a counterattack that shifted the momentum decisively.
Kishan’s explosive 74 off 31 balls set the tone, while Abhishek’s fluent 57 ensured the required rate never spiralled. Nitish Kumar Reddy then applied the finishing touches with a brisk 36, steering SRH to a five-wicket win with composure.
Though Archer and Brijesh Sharma picked up two wickets apiece, Rajasthan were left ruing missed opportunities-particularly their inability to stretch the total further. In the end, Hyderabad’s fearless batting proved the difference in a match dominated by big hitting and bold intent.
