A day before his demise, K Bhagyaraj was spotted in public while attending the wedding of actress and politician K Bhagyaraj. His last video has now gone viral.
Dressed traditionally in a silk dhoti and shirt, Bhagyaraj was spotted attending the star-studded wedding of actress and politician Khushbu and director Sundar C’s elder daughter, Avantika Sundar, in Goa.
K Bhagyaraj’s final public appearance occurred at the Goa wedding of Avantika Sundar, daughter of Khushbu and Sundar C, where he interacted with celebrities like Chiranjeevi; videos from the event have since gone viral.
The grand ceremony at a luxury resort drew icons from across Indian cinema, including Telugu Mega Star Chiranjeevi, who was seen warmly greeting Bhagyaraj at the wedding mandap, alongside other high-profile guests like Nagarjuna, Venkatesh, Amala Akkineni, Jackie Shroff, and Anil Kapoor.
While some reports alternatively suggested his final public appearance was paying tribute at his mentor’s house, it is the joyful wedding footage that has captured the public’s attention.

Telugu Mega Star Chiranjeevi was seen greeting him as he stepped up on the wedding mantap. The Tollywood actor has expressed his shock over the demise of the Tamil actor.
In a post on X, Chiranjeevi said, “Deeply shocked and heartbroken beyond words.
Just the day before yesterday, we were together in Goa at Kush’s wedding, laughing, sharing jokes, and taking pictures. Bhagyaraj garu was full of life and joy. To wake up to the news of his passing this morning is simply unbelievable.”
Chiranjeevi described K Bhagyarah as a brilliant filmmaker, exceptional screenplay writer, and fine actor, whose contribution to Indian cinema will always be remembered.
He continued, “My heartfelt condolences to Poornima ji, Shanthanu and the entire family. May God give them the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Rest in peace, my dear friend. You will be deeply missed.”
Venkatesh, who had also met K Bhagyaraj, expressed his condolence in a post on X. He wrote, “Deeply saddened by the passing of Bhagyaraj Sir. His work transcended languages and touched the hearts of millions. I feel fortunate to have been a part of films like Sundarakanda and Abbaigaru, which were born from his remarkable storytelling. Indian cinema has lost one of its finest filmmakers. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and countless admirers.”
The 73-year-old veteran died after suffering a cardiac arrest on Saturday. He had complained of severe chest pain before he was rushed to a private hospital.
His death comes a mere 17 days after the death of his mentor and fellow Tamil cinema icon, K Bharathirajaa.
Considered one of the finest screenplay writers and true legends of Tamil cinema, Bhagyaraj is survived by his wife Poornima Bhagayaraj, his son Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, and his daughter Saranya Bhagyaraj.
