White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who became the youngest person to assume the role, will leave her role later this month, US President Donald Trump announced. Leavitt described the move as a “bittersweet decision” in a social media post shortly after Trump’s announcement.
Notably, Leavitt has served as press secretary since Trump returned to office in 2025. She recently welcomed her second child.

“Our wonderful White House Press Secretary, and one of my most trusted aides, Karoline Leavitt, will be departing her role at the end of the month so she can spend more time with her beautiful young children and family,” Trump said on social media.
“Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party.”
In the social media post, Trump called her a “real leader” and said that she has done a “phenomenal job”.
