Adani Airport Holdings Limited and IHG Hotels & Resorts have signed a landmark agreement to develop five hotels across major airport-linked and urban destinations in India, marking the entry of the luxury lifestyle brand Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants into the Indian market.

The partnership will add nearly 1,500 rooms across multiple hospitality brands in cities including Jaipur, Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru and Thiruvananthapuram. The hotels will be part of integrated airport city and mixed-use developments being planned by Adani Airport Holdings.

Adani Airport Holdings and IHG Hotels & Resorts have signed a landmark deal to develop five hotels in India, introducing Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants to the market and adding about 1,500 rooms across Jaipur, Navi Mumbai, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram as part of airport city projects.

Under the agreement, the portfolio will include a Kimpton hotel in Jaipur along with Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express properties across key locations. The development is aimed at catering to rising demand from business, leisure and transit travellers amid rapid growth in India’s aviation and tourism sectors.

Speaking on the development, Pranav Adani said the collaboration aligns with the group’s broader vision of creating integrated travel and urban destinations around India’s expanding aviation ecosystem. “As the Adani Group expands its presence across hospitality and airport-led urban infrastructure, our vision is to create world-class destinations that seamlessly integrate travel, stay and urban experiences,” he said.

Adani Airport Holdings currently operates eight airports across India, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur, Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, besides the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport. The company is also developing airport city projects spread over nearly 663 acres across key locations.

Sudeep Jain said the partnership reflects the growing opportunities in India’s hospitality market, particularly around airport-led developments. “The agreement allows us to strengthen our presence across high-growth markets while also marking the debut of Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants in India,” Jain said.

IHG Hotels & Resorts currently operates 52 hotels across six brands in India and has a pipeline of 98 additional hotels expected to open over the next three to five years. The move comes at a time when airport-led commercial and hospitality hubs are witnessing increased investments, driven by rising passenger traffic, domestic tourism and business travel demand across India.
