Actor Kriti Sanon is in the controversy these days as her Raksha Bandhan jewellery advertisement over her outfit. Even BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has openly criticised her outfit and that added fuel to the fire over social media trolling. Kriti has now finally responded to the advertisement criticism and questioned why women’s clothing has always been a topic of discussion.
Actor Kriti Sanon responded to criticism over her Raksha Bandhan jewellery ad outfit, questioning societal judgment of women’s clothing and defending the advertisement’s message, which included tying rakhis for pets, after Kangana Ranaut also commented.
Kriti Sanon Questions Clothing Judgement
While responding to the criticism, Kriti said the meaning of festival should not be judged by the clothes that are being worn during its celebration.
“The essence of festivals is not in the clothes you wear, it is in the emotions and meaning you hold for the traditions…” she wrote.
She then also questioned the continuous trend of questioning women’s clothing, “Also, when will we stop telling women what to wear?? Ethnic fashion has evolved over the years, but still a woman’s respect for her culture is measured by just her clothes!! Culture & Traditions are in her heart, not in her neckline!”
What Kangana Ranaut Said About The Ad
The whole controversy started after social media users started trolling criticising Kriti Sanon’s styling of cloth in Raksha Bandhan advertisement. She was seen in an ivory bralette-style blouse paired with a cape and draped skirt, while showing the contemporary interpretation of festive fashion.
Late Kangana Ranaut also joined the criticism and posted on Instagram stories, “Why would you tie your brother a rakhi in your bikini/undergarments?”
She also stated the advertisement as “intentionally creepy”.
Kriti Defends Rakhi For Her Dogs
Kriti Sanon also addressed the trolling she faced for tying rakhi to a dog in the advertisement.
“Rakshabandhan is a bond of protection. My sister and I tie rakhi to each other. We know we can protect each other no less than a brother would have. We pray for each other’s health, happiness & long life. And for us, this prayer and promise extends to our dogs too! After all, they are family,” she said.
Kangana Ranaut Calling Ashutosh Rana ‘Stupid’
Kangana Ranaut as of her usual side recently criticised many public figures including Taapsee Pannu, Rakhi Sawant, Sonu Sood and Ashutosh Rana over comments on her family, politics and public conduct. She also said she had not interest in taking advice from people she considered less successful, calling them “failed, stupid and disgusting”.
