If you use an LPG connection, you just have 5 more days left to complete your mandatory e-KYC verification. The deadline for LPG Cylinder e-KYC is August 23, 2026, and missing it would lead to your domestic LPG connection being temporarily suspended. You may also stop receiving your LPG subsidy until the verification is completed. And this is the very reason consumers are rushing to complete their LPG Cylinder e-KYC before the deadline ends.
However, many consumers are still struggling to complete the Aadhaar-based biometric authentication due to repeated technical glitches and app failures. Users of Indane, HP Gas and Bharat Gas have reported difficulties while trying to complete e-KYC through the respective apps and Aadhaar FaceRD.
Eligible LPG consumers must complete mandatory e-KYC verification by August 23, 2026, to avoid connection suspension and subsidy loss, though many face technical issues with online apps and biometric authentication.

Former Chief Election Commissioner SY Quraishi is among those who have faced difficulties with the process, saying he has been unable to complete his Indane e-KYC for nearly a month.
Taking to X, he wrote,”For one month I have been trying to update my ekyc but app fails every time. Toll free call is always out of order. Phy visit is not possible for old people. Keep getting threat of elimination. Please advise. @indane_gas @indanegasonline.”
His post has brought attention to the difficulties faced by consumers when digital verification does not work and other avenues for assistance are inaccessible.
Quraishi has sought clarification and assistance from Indane over the issue, particularly over the repeated warnings regarding his LPG connection.
The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) had asked eligible LPG consumers to complete biometric Aadhaar authentication by August 23, 2026, to ensure uninterrupted LPG services. However, the requirement applies only to households that had not completed their e-KYC earlier. The Oil Ministry has also clarified that consumers who have already completed LPG e-KYC is not required again.
Here are the simple steps to follow for Indane e-KYC. Most other Oil marketing companies’ (OMCs) apps ideally follow the same rule.
Indane e-KYC Not Working? Here’s How LPG Consumers Can Fix App Failures
Thousands of domestic cooking gas consumers across India have reported server timeouts, app crashes, and failed biometric scans while attempting to complete mandatory Aadhaar e-KYC. If you are facing persistent glitches on the IndianOil ONE or Aadhaar FaceRD applications, here is a complete guide on how to troubleshoot the app and finish your verification.
Step-by-Step Online Verification
To complete your e-KYC from home, ensure you follow this exact sequence using an Android smartphone:
Install Both Required Applications
Download the Aadhaar FaceRD App (developed by UIDAI) from the Google Play Store. Note: FaceRD is a background security engine, so it will not display a launcher icon on your home screen.
Download the official IndianOil ONE app.
Setup and App Permissions
Open IndianOil ONE and grant permissions for Camera and Location when prompted.
Log in using your registered LPG mobile number.
Confirm that your 16-digit LPG Consumer ID is linked under your account details.
Navigate to the e-KYC Section
Go to Menu
My Profile / LPG Details
Select re-KYC / e-KYC, accept the consent terms, and tap Face Scan.
Complete Face Authentication
The app will launch the Aadhaar FaceRD camera interface.
Sit in a well-lit room with light falling directly on your face (avoid strong background lighting).
Position your face inside the frame and blink slowly when prompted to pass dynamic liveness detection.
Confirm Verification
Wait for the system to validate the biometric data with UIDAI. Ensure an “e-KYC Completed Successfully” message appears on your screen before closing the app.
If the application continuously freezes, throws “Technical Error”, or displays “Request Timed Out” warnings, apply these technical fixes:
Clear App Storage & Cache: Stale session tokens cause communication errors between the oil company app and UIDAI servers. Go to Settings -Apps-IndianOil ONE-Storage and select Clear Cache and Clear Data, then sign in again.
Unlock Aadhaar Biometrics: If you use the mAadhaar app, check if your biometric lock is enabled. An active biometric lock will automatically block FaceRD authentication attempts.
Attempt During Off-Peak Hours: Heavy nationwide traffic on government verification servers frequently leads to 500/503 Server Error messages. Try initiating the scan early in the morning or late at night.
Keep Software Updated: Verify on the Google Play Store that both IndianOil ONE and Aadhaar FaceRD are running their latest versions.
Offline Alternatives
If app glitches persist, consumers can complete their verification offline without penalty:
At Your Local Distributorship: Visit your designated Indane gas agency with your Aadhaar card and LPG consumer passbook. Agency staff can complete the biometric e-KYC instantly using physical fingerprint scanners.
During Cylinder Delivery: Ask your LPG delivery personnel if they are carrying an authorized biometric verification device, as many distributors now equip delivery staff to perform e-KYC at your doorstep.
