Bhopal, October 9, 2026: Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart (MPTM) 2026 honoured outstanding participants and institutions for their contributions to tourism innovation, creativity, eco-friendly initiatives and the promotion of the state’s cultural heritage. The awards ceremony, held on the third day of the event following business-to-business (B2B) meetings, recognised exhibitors and organisations for their efforts to showcase Madhya Pradesh’s diverse tourism offerings.

Dr. Ilayaraja T., Secretary of Tourism and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, said strengthening Ease of Doing Business in the tourism sector remains a key priority for the state government. In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, Madhya Pradesh is working to promote investment, innovation and new business opportunities in tourism. He also announced that a comprehensive tourism roadmap for 2028 would be developed to position Madhya Pradesh as a leading destination for tourism investment, streamlined business processes and diverse travel experiences.

Explaining the state’s approach to tourism development, Dr. Ilayaraja T. said Madhya Pradesh is working on the ‘3Gs’ framework-Guides, Guidelines and Gear. Simplifying procedures and providing investors with a supportive policy environment are central to this approach.
The state’s tourism policy aims to bring not only large investors but also local entrepreneurs, rural communities and homestay operators into the tourism economy. The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities at the grassroots level and extend the benefits of tourism to remote parts of Madhya Pradesh.
36 Organising Committee Members and 52 Sponsors Felicitated
The awards ceremony began with the screening of a short film highlighting Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart 2026. Subsequently, 36 members of the organising committee and 52 sponsors were felicitated for their contributions to the event. The programme was attended by Ashish Kumar, Managing Director of the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation; Dileep Kumar Yadav, Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation; and Dr. Abhay Arvind Bedekar, Additional Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. Travel and tour operators, exhibitors and hoteliers were also present.

1. Best Table Space
* First Prize: Tourism Village Dhoba – Recognised for showcasing Baiga tribal culture, traditional cuisine, folk arts and rural life. The initiative offers visitors opportunities to stay with local families and experience tribal traditions and a close connection with nature.
* Second Prize: Weavers Paradise – Honoured for its presentation celebrating the weaving community and Madhya Pradesh’s handloom traditions.
2. Best Stall Design: 6 Square Metres
* First Prize: Bamboo Raj – Recognised for promoting sustainable living through eco-friendly bamboo products that combine functionality, natural aesthetics and environmental responsibility.
* Second Prize: Gypsy Adventures – Honoured for its nature-based adventure experiences, including forest-side camping, cycling expeditions, trekking and stargazing.
3. Best Stall Design: 9 Square Metres
* First Prize: Kuno Resort – Recognised for connecting the wildlife wealth and natural surroundings of the Kuno region with distinctive tourism experiences.
* Second Prize: YARNAGAR Jungle Resort – Honoured for its presentation of forest-based and nature-oriented tourism experiences.
4. Best Stall Design: Above 9 Square Metres
* First Prize: MP Escapes – Recognised for showcasing Madhya Pradesh’s natural, cultural, historical and spiritual heritage through curated travel itineraries.
* Second Prize: Shambhala – The Bhopal-based destination was recognised for its nature-oriented experiences, including an organic farm, accommodation surrounded by greenery, farm tours and opportunities to relax amid nature.
5. Best Eco-Friendly Stall
* First Prize: Van Vibe – Recognised for its environmentally conscious stall presentation, highlighting the importance of sustainability in tourism.
6. Best Thematic Presentation of Madhya Pradesh
* Joint First Prize: MP Tours and Travelicious MP – Both organisations were recognised for presenting the distinctive tourism identity of Madhya Pradesh.
MP Tours curates travel experiences covering wildlife, heritage, tribal culture, local cuisine and rural tourism, offering visitors a glimpse of the state’s diverse attractions.
7. Best Art and Craft Exhibition
* First Prize: Tajwar Khan, Zari Zardozi – Honoured for showcasing traditional embroidery distinguished by intricate craftsmanship and decorative work using metallic threads, reflecting Madhya Pradesh’s rich handicraft heritage.
* Second Prize: Reena Bhuria, Wood Craft – Recognised for displaying wood-based handicrafts and artistic craftsmanship, highlighting the skills and creativity of traditional artisans.
Tourism Innovation and Cultural Heritage Take Centre Stage
The awards ceremony celebrated the creativity and commitment of Madhya Pradesh’s tourism entrepreneurs, exhibitors and artisans. Presentations featuring tribal culture, wildlife tourism, traditional handicrafts and environmentally responsible initiatives highlighted the state’s cultural richness and natural diversity.
By promoting investment, encouraging local entrepreneurship and showcasing distinctive tourism experiences, Madhya Pradesh aims to strengthen its tourism ecosystem and create new opportunities for tourism-led economic growth. The proposed 2028 tourism roadmap is expected to support the state’s broader efforts to improve business processes, attract investment and strengthen its position in national and international tourism markets.
