Soori-starrer new Tamil movie Mandaadi has hit the screens on Thursday. The sports action drama is written and directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi.
Elred Kumar and National-Award winning filmmaker Vetrimaaran-produced film has Suhas, Mahima Nambiar, Sathyaraj, Krish, Mithun, Ravindra Vijay, Bala Saravanan, Stun Siva, Krithika Iyer, Ramachandran Durairaj, Aadukalam Murugadoss and others are part of the cast.
Released Thursday, the Tamil sports action drama Mandaadi, directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi and produced by Elred Kumar and Vetrimaaran, stars Soori as Muthukaali, a fisherman navigating a bitter feud in traditional sailboat racing.
GV Prakash Kumar has scored the music, SR Kathir has handled the cinematography while Pradeep E Ragav has done the editing.
Driven by the brutal tides of traditional sailboat racing, a bitter feud erupts off the coast between rival factions led by Kaali and Saattaappuli. Soori anchors the film as Muthukaali, a fearless fisherman forced to navigate deadly seas, corrupt local politics, and personal honor in a relentless “game of ropes” 1. While packed with high-octane maritime battles, the narrative ultimately centers on human resilience, family loyalty, and second chances.

@srkathiir’s visuals and angles need special mention here. Never seen a boat race on screen.
Action choreography in the intermission is very raw although over the top showcases the intensity of the enmity between Soori and Suhas in the film. So far so good 👌

What The Fuss: #Mandaadi First Half- #Soori goes overdrive in mass avatar. Looks super convincing more than ever. First act builds an interesting conflict without stretching the screenplay. Avoids cliched conflict and lets the clash grow organically leading to a thrilling spectacle till Intermission. #Suhas & #MahimaNambiar also impress.
#MathimaranPugazhendi should be getting a winner here.
